Looks Like Team Spirit
The two baseball items that turned into hobbies

Today, October 20, is National Day of Writing, which encourages everyone to express themselves through sharing their thoughts to others. Since becoming a creator on Vocal back in 2018, I've written a plethora of stories that might be relatable to others, such as baseball, video games, and tidbits regarding my personal life. In the last several years, book bans have been one of the main talking points, mostly from conservative politicians and the most well-known writers have accused them of censorship. If there were books that discussed gender identity or race, chances are that you won't see them in public schools or at your local library. You can't shield children from everything, because they deserve to know about topics that they're curious of. Books about race, gender identity, and other progressive issues are needed, because it might be relatable to many people. Conservatives always claimed that these book bans are about "protecting children", but I've never bought that excuse. Protect them from whom or what exactly? Also, their other claim is to stop the indoctrination of children. Indoctrination has been a huge buzz word amongst conservative politicians. It's just a low-key term for brainwashing. Teaching children how to treat others with respect is not indoctrination. It's called being a decent human being. If only they put so much energy into passing common sense gun control laws instead of policing libraries and schools on which books children can and can't read. My point is that having an imagination is not a crime and as John F. Kennedy once said, "Libraries should be open to all---except the censor."

In honor of National Day of Writing, I'll be sharing two things I love about baseball: baseball caps and jerseys. Baseball is considered America's pastime and if you think baseball is boring, you might be the problem. Wearing a baseball cap and jersey goes hand in hand, whether it's at home or out and about, shows that you're a fan of your own team. I have five Texas Rangers jerseys (two of them with the World Series Champions patches and one with a World Series patch on the right side of the jersey) and seven flat billed hats. Technically, I have eight but the one not shown above was my first Rangers hat that I've had for almost 10 years. I wore that hat during the 2023 Postseason and the night the Rangers won their first World Series title. I'll have a link down below to a story about the how the night of Game 5 of the 2023 World Series was for me.
Next year, I'll be celebrating 25 years of being a Rangers fan. I've only attended one game and that was back in 2001 at age 13, soon after the tragic events of September 11. I'll also have a link down below to the story about my experiences attending a Rangers game in person for the first time. I'm hoping to attend a game at Globe Life Field, where they have been playing at since it first opened in 2020, in the near future.
Since retiring from cosplay nearly a year ago, I've made collecting baseball jerseys and baseball caps (specifically of my team) a hobby. Sure, they can be a bit pricey, but it's worth the effort and money. 59Fifty Day was held back in May. May 9, to be exact. It was meant to celebrate the brand's fitted cap. As far as people collecting baseball jerseys, some do it as either a hobby or something to invest in. Whether it's game-worn jerseys or replicas, owning one will satisfy you and you'd want to collect more of them. Jerseys can be expensive, but if you know where to look, you can find them for great bargains. I'll have a link to a story highlighting all of the Rangers jerseys I have so far down below.
In closing, writing gives you the freedom to express yourself freely. Don't let anyone take away your creativity and purpose. Happy writing, everyone.
