Popcorn has been around for thousands of years, and it's originally from the Americas. It was used as a snack back in 4,000BC, and it was found in New Mexico USA. In the 16th century, popcorn was used for religious ceremonies by the Aztec Indians. And as early as the 19th century, popcorn became a common breakfast food. After the moldboard plow became popular, growing large amounts of popcorn was easy; there was a lot of it and it was cheap. Today, popcorn would be considered a poor gift to give; however, it was loved back then and still is today.
