Harder Times On Vocal For Me
Each Day Gets More Difficult
Introduction
Although I have published over 3,800 stories on Vocal, I am spending more and more time looking for stories to reuse, like this one. I think when we publish stories, we also hope it will get noticed as a Top Story, Challenge Place, Leaderboard or maybe someone will share it in Raise Your Voice.
I know that none of mine will because the system stops them, so writing this, I know if a hundred more people read it and commented, it wouldn;t appear on the leaderboard, because the original was four years old.
What Else
I got this today from a ticket I raised (so they are replying)
But this is very similar to the one I got on December 5th last year
So I am writing and publishing and getting reads, but zero recognition from Vocal, the implication being that my work is not very good, when most of it is excellent.
Each story I reuse, I download to my computer so I do have the option of republishing them if I ever get the option of publishing new stories.
All this takes me away from commenting on others stories and supporting other creators, although we seem to have lost many creators because they have lost faith in Vocal.
One of the benefits of this is that I can republish some old excellent pieces of mine, so that new readers can read them, and some do get a decent amount of new reads.
Conclusion
The Vocal platform is still, in my opinion, the best writing platform going.

Just letting you know where I am at the moment, and I will keep writing and publishing, because there is a lot of inspiration out there.

Hey, Mike. While I know you have been a publishing workhorse, I had no clue your number was that high. It sounds like it could be an algorithm thing. Or perhaps that's as far as my brain can go right now since I'm so heavy into the pros and cons of algorithms. A platform that used to house all of my old writings has gone to the wayside due to changes in algorithms and other things. So I'll slowly be shifting some of those writings to Vocal.
