Grace in the Little Things

There's Beauty Even Here

By the.selfcare.advocatePublished 3 months ago 3 min read
How about a pause?

Lately, I’ve been reminded that gratitude isn’t only for when everything feels good. It’s also for the moments when life feels too loud, too busy, or a little uncertain.

2025, so far, has turned out to be a whole rollercoaster for me. I stepped into the year strong and mostly excited — ready for the new grounds I’d break, the things I’d achieve, and all the goals I had carefully mapped out. I even got a brand new pretty journal to write out my big goals and the small consistent steps I'd take to achieve them.

The year started out great — everything looked bright and full of promise. But as the months passed and the middle of the year approached, I found myself facing a series of drawbacks, doubts, comparison issues, and the worst of all — my imposter syndrome. Why does it seem like I'm putting in all the effort, all my energy, the sleepless nights - yet , I seem to just be standing on the very spot I began?

There were days when I questioned everything.
Days when I felt behind, unseen, or simply exhausted from trying to keep up. But deep down, I knew I had to navigate through all of it — to remind myself that I am my own biggest cheerleader, and that no matter how slow things seemed, there would always be better days ahead.

So this leads me to say:
When we’re stressed or weighed down, it’s easy to notice only the things that are going wrong — the unanswered prayers, the delay, the noise around us, the pressure to be more. But if we slow down for a moment and really look around, we’ll see that even in the middle of everything, grace still lives here.

Yes. It really does.

There’s beauty in the small, almost ordinary things:
• a friend who checks in just to see how you’re doing,
• a parent or sibling who calls when you least expect it,
• a quiet meal after a long, draining day — even if you’ve been struggling to eat lately,
• or the peace that comes when you finally close your eyes at night and allow yourself to rest.

These aren’t coincidences. They’re gentle reminders that life, in its own way, still finds a rhythm even in the chaos. That even in our heaviness, there are tiny reasons to smile — little pieces of grace that carry us through until things get better again.

So even here, in this moment that may not be perfect, let’s pause to give thanks. Let’s choose to be present — not just for the big milestones or the good days, but for the small, quiet in-betweens too. Let’s learn to notice the good that still surrounds us, even when life feels uncertain or slow.

Let’s choose to take 10 seconds to just breathe.
To unclench our hearts.
To remember that this moment — even if it’s not ideal — still holds something beautiful if we look closely enough.

Because gratitude turns the ordinary into something sacred. It helps us see light where it once felt dim, peace where it once felt heavy, and hope where it once felt hard to find.

And sometimes, the smallest blessings are the loudest whispers of reassurance — the kind that tell us we’re doing okay, that we’re growing even when we don’t see it, and that we’re doing much better than we think.

So tell me — what are those little pieces of grace that you notice around you, even in the midst of stress, doubts, and chaos? What’s that tiny act or step you take to remind yourself to be present and trust that this phase will pass?

I’d love to know yours.
