From Silent Pages to Heard Voices

This Garden was the exact place I wrote my first poem

Before I share a glimpse of my life, I want to take a moment to thank Allah, the Almighty, for His endless guidance and blessings. He has gifted me with everything I’ve ever wished for, and I’m forever grateful.

Let's Go:

This Phase Of My Life Was Called

"180° Change"

That red "Amazing" is a remark from my teacher :)

It was a subtly brisk day on January 07, 2022. I would turn 14 in a few months. Before that very day, I had never tried writing anything; I had no interest in it. My hobby was sketching objects I saw in front of me. Grabbing a black pen, I would try to bring them to life on paper. They never quite looked alive, but I always tried my best to make them identical to the real thing.

I remember sitting in the middle of the second story of my house that day. I’ve always loved staring at the sky, which feels so vast and endless from there. It had become my ritual to lose myself in its expanse during my leisure time, usually around 5 pm. But that day, something caught my attention.

180° ?

Woah, I can see the sky 180° from here ...

Really?

I still don't know, how! But I thought:

What if there was a poem called '180°'?

And that 5-second-action-plan —Within 2 seconds, I rushed to grab a black pointer and one of my diaries ...

Then, guess what?

It was Love At First Sight

I've written a POEM. A POEM?

Yes, Ik.. I know it seems more dramatic than it actually is. But, trust me... It was a moment of victory I felt. I felt like I did something extraordinary, lol.

The day after that, I found a new Maryam in me. The one who was a bit different and sparkly than before.

A Maryam who finds herself lost in the world of precious words, where every line feels like home, and for whom a poem is the greatest gift of all

I started looking out for books. Those books I never thought I would read.

.

This Phase Of My Life Was Called

"Journalling"

[Disclaimer: If you have a kid in the house, You would understand why my diaries are not clean, thank you :) ]

I started much more than just poems...

I started to journal my days, my special moments and people in my life.

Please Don't read that Silly line, lol (It's super cringy)
How I create storylines... Worst than a doctor's handwriting
Some 'pretty' ones
2 years ago when I was a crazy fan of... (You can guess it from the Korean script)lol
My shot to write a Book— A Poetic Book
Writing about all the fun activities and Books that I love

A record of my poems
This is the Present... Intentionally blur

There's much more in my diaries than I can share with you.

So much more

My journey has been awesome.

If I conclude my Journey of writing and crafting magic into diaries and my life in One Word,

It would be:

MAGICAL 💖

.

.

This, Present Phase of My Life Is Called,

"Being heard"

Although, I was writing and enjoying it a lot! But, imagine:

  • A producer who produced a Film but has no one to watch it.
  • A painter who paints life but no one buys them
  • A singer with the best voice but no one to hear his songs.

Something similar was going on within me...

I was internally happy about my journey, but a 'Part' of my heart felt hollow inside.

It was like a hole, through which my urge to write started dripping gradually.

Like a WISE FRIEND, I found something;

Hi, Maryam Batool! Welcome to Vocal 🤍

I found VOCAL

I can now share my words with people around the globe.

When Komal commented to me for the 1st time... It was a feeling I can't describe. Imagine someone writing in diaries for about 3 years and no one ever read a word. And suddenly, one day a girl says:

This is a beautifully written piece. I love how you've captured so much in your poem—truly inspiring work.

_Komal

I felt heard for the 1st time in almost 3 years.

I'm saying it again: Yes, I sound dramatic but that feeling was something beyond my control.

So, Thank you again, Komal (I can never get that '1st comment' feel again) ❤️

Vocal to me is like an Angel who sets my words free.

Thank You Vocal! Thank You for everything.

I've made friends here. Some bonds that are unforgettable. I've met with some of the most hilarious people of my life, lol! What's up, Dharr? 😘😆

This is my 'Writing Anniversary', I'm crazy I know.

Thank you Mama Papa. My parents have always been such a support and love throughout my life. I, like every other child, would say:

I have the best parents in the world 💓

A picture of them from more than 2 decades ago; ofc in my diary

There’s someone I’ll never forget to say, "Thank you" to, because without her, nothing would’ve been possible. The sweetest person in my life.

Thank You little Maryam:

One eye with 'kajal' and the other wiped out, lol!

Thank you, Everyone :)

And here you are Maryam on the brink of taking on the world and starting to get heard in a big way and all at your tender young age. You are the singer who has just sung their first concert and people want to hear more. The artist who has just sold that first painting and now you have a market. What a wonderful start.
