Do You Recognize Me?
How I live, Who I love, Where do you find me.

I love wholeheartedly,
but I break with half a heart.
Earth-shattering moans echo during the day,
but deafening silence fills my nights.
I sing blues and sip reds,
but I see only a void ahead of me.
I am loved, I am cherished, I am celebrated,
but I am never enough.
I run faster than the light in my head,
but I crawl painstakingly in the concrete jungle.
Life is half full if you ask a bystander,
but the heart is half empty if you ask me.
I rebel, I rave, I resist,
but I’m just a woman who never was a child.
I cry in secret,
but I laugh in public.
I love wholeheartedly,
but I break with half a heart.
You’ll see me in plain sight every passing day,
but you’ll never understand me.
Unless you are me.
Mirrors don’t love us, only books do.
People aren’t our lovers, only sad songs are.
Do you recognize me?
I’m buried inside you.
