In a world where fair-weather friends are plentiful, it's easy to get caught up in the illusion of connection. But, as the saying goes, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going." And that's precisely when you'll discover who your true friends are.

Life has a way of testing our relationships, pushing them to the limits of endurance. It's in those moments of darkness – when illness strikes, job loss looms, legal troubles arise, financial struggles persist, or death beckons – that we come face-to-face with the harsh reality of who's truly in our corner.

The crowds that cheered us on during our triumphs often vanish when we need them most. The phone calls that once poured in with congratulations and praise now go unanswered. The doors that swung open with opportunities and invitations now slam shut with rejection and indifference.

But, in the midst of that desolate landscape, there's a beacon of hope. A constant presence that never wavers, never falters, and never abandons. A friend who doesn't just weather the storm with us but is the storm's calm eye – God.

In our darkest moments, when all seems lost, and human friendship fails, God's love and support shine brightest. It's a reminder that true friendship transcends earthly bonds, that there's a love that never lets us go, no matter how far we fall.

So, let us cherish that divine friendship, cultivate it, and deepen our connection with the ultimate friend who never leaves our side. And, as we navigate life's trials, may we learn to appreciate the precious few who stand by us, human friends who embody the spirit of God's unwavering love and support.
