Call for Submissions – Canyon Voices Spring 2025 Issue

Canyon Voices Literary Magazine is excited to announce that we are now accepting fiction submissions for our Spring 2025 issue! Whether you are an emerging writer or a seasoned author, we welcome bold, imaginative, and compelling stories that push the boundaries of storytelling.

Canyon Voices is dedicated to showcasing unique voices and fresh perspectives in contemporary fiction. As a literary magazine housed within Arizona State University’s New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, we take pride in publishing diverse, thought-provoking, and powerful works that captivate and challenge readers. Our goal is to provide a platform for both new and established writers to share their fiction with a wide audience.

This is an excellent opportunity for students, faculty, colleagues, and professional writers to see their work published in an academic literary journal. If you have a short story or piece of fiction that deserves recognition, we encourage you to submit!

What We’re Looking For:

We are interested in fiction of all genres—literary, horror, fantasy, science fiction, historical, experimental, and beyond. We want stories that grab us from the first sentence and refuse to let go. Whether your piece is character-driven, plot-heavy, or thematically rich, we are looking for writing that demonstrates originality, depth, and emotional resonance.

Submission Guidelines:

Submissions must be fiction (short stories, flash fiction, or excerpts from longer works).

We encourage diverse voices and perspectives—we want to hear from writers of all backgrounds.

All work must be previously unpublished.

Please submit your work as a Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF attachment.

Word count: Stories should be between 500 and 5,000 words.

Formatting: Double-spaced, 12-point font (Times New Roman or similar).

Please include your name, email address, and a brief bio (50-100 words) in your submission email.
