Let’s just say for fun, they never came. Let’s imagine a place where we live in peace and harmony, just minding our own. Let’s pretend this is not really happening.

But oh no, they had to find us and trap us in cages, and to what end?

The reason is far more evil than any of us could have expected, a horror beyond imagining. Now I sit here waiting, biding my time waiting for the inevitable demise that is moments or days away. That is the worst, not knowing when you will be chosen, when those horrid limbs reach in, dragging us from the last vestige of safety.

We we’re never sure what was in store for us, what barbaric ritual was planned.

A sacrifice to a higher being?

Forced into submission to do their bidding?

Both of those would be desirable to what really happens to us, I discovered the truth by accident. Locked in our cage, I found an area from which I could spy upon what transpires once we are chosen….it was the screams that grabbed my attention…..oh the madness.

I press myself against this invisible barrier that locks us in, and watch as the truth unfolds.

I cry out but none hear me. Watching in horror they now tear into my kin, ripping him apart then dipping his limbs into some golden liquid before raising it up to their maws, chewing and slobbering, their teeth rip into the flesh. Glistening juices run down fat pouty lips. We are sustenance for these monsters, food for their bloated bellies.

Poor Bob.

Oh, how I would love the chance to toss their flabby bodies in that bubbling water, see how they enjoy it.

I bang against this cell in rage, but the barrier is too strong, and I cannot fight back because of these blue stretchy bindings wrapped around my pinchers. Many of us have lost faith in our Saviour. Oh, great Neptune, why hast thou abandon us?

However, I will say, there is an interesting scent filtering through my liquid cell, which is rather tantalizing.

Honestly Bob never smelled so good.
