Clothes Make The Man
JBaz Twisted Quote Unofficial Challenge
It was just a normal day at the Clothing Factory. The assembly line was whirring along. Products tumbled down the assembly line to be sorted into the basics of age and gender: Male or female. Infant, toddler, teen, adult. Further differentiations were made as to tall, short, medium… colors; black, white, tan, red, and so forth. Plus-Size or Juniors. Levi rooted through the bins for the hundredth time. The tedium was mind numbing.
Looking at his mannequin for inspiration, Levi sorted through the legs pile for two that matched. The mannequin was tall, rugged looking; possibly the type made for farm work or maybe construction. Finally finding a matching pair he liked he spliced them together, taking special care with the groin area. Properly symmetrical… Looks good. Okay… waist 32, length 38 on both. Now for the upper… let’s see, shoulders about 34, tapered…
“Hey I need a cup size 36C.”
Moving to a nearby bin, Levi rooted around and found a couple of the right size. He tossed them over to where Don was working with a female mannequin. There you go. Nice and pink.”
Catching the material, Don looked it over. “Thanks Levi. Should work just fine.”
“No sweat. I like the women’s upper torso bin.” Levi grinned and went back to rooting for what he needed to complete his farmhand ensemble.
Checking his work against his mannequin he decided he needed a slight bit more taper to the abdominal region.
“Hey Levi, what you think of this?” came a voice from behind him.
Turning, Levi perused the newly clothed man behind him.
“One leg is longer than the other. Actually, isn’t that left leg from the women’s bin?”
“Oh yeah. You’re right. Thanks Levi.” Hilfiger turned back to fix his mistake.
Levi, turning back to his own creation, muttered, “Seems Hilfiger needs to work on the eyesight department.” Moving to a smaller bin he pulled out a set of 20/20 and tossed them over. “Try these Tommy. Blue’s a nice color.”
Switching them out, Hilfiger adjusted the nose piece a hair to the left. “Oh, that’s much better,” he said with a grin.
“So…, arms… maybe a tad of contrast.”
Levi was almost finished when his supervisor strolled by. “Looks good Levi. After all, clothes make the man. Don’t forget the feet. Ten toes total.” The boss chuckled.
“Yep. Hey, give me a hand here.”
“Sure thing. Left or right?”
“Right please. Callused.”
The supervisor tossed one over before moving to the new worker on the next row. “Okay, let’s start with the basics: Two arms, two legs, torso, head…, the usual.”
