I know a girl who keeps smiling at everyone and wearing that joyful aura wherever she goes. “How childish,” Well, maybe they are right. It’s one of the good ways to survive a day in a mad world.

It could easily brighten up someone’s day.

A smile is the simplest thing I can give to someone.

I know what it feels like — It was one of those days when I felt like everything was falling apart but I still had to work. A lady who’s about my age accidentally bumped into me. She was running, she seemed to be in a hurry but she stopped and looked at me. It was a first — eyes wide and lips-about-to-laugh-but-can’t-because-she’s-worried kind of look.

“ Late?

No

Emergency?

No

Do you need help?

Ahh no — Hey! I’m sorry. I’m just — Are you okay? Did I hurt you?

I shook my head and smiled.

You don’t look okay.

I’m okay. Go ahead now. Be safe.

Yeah, you too. Bye!”

(she smiled and waved as she went back running to who knows where)

I lied. Something tells me she did too.

It was less than a minute. I don’t know the name. I didn’t see her again but I know how I felt back then. I don’t know what happened — warmth and presence? Maybe. Someone cares — happy coin.
