A Dream Weaver

In the Depth of an African Community - I nursed a dream big as the sky in Africa. My evenings had been reserved for an entirely different sort of experience, yet my days were inundated with the sights and sounds of energetic life in bustling western Kenya. Nightly, I would put my hands to work on the books from school. I sat in front of a dim kerosene lamp, creating stories of far-off lands and the unknown. Once my mind was boundless, and I vowed that if someone should go through a laborious task to flip each page of one of my books, they would at least be taken on adventures unknown.

My goal is to join the ranks of the greats, with my words being the vehicles for the stories that would appeal to all readers everywhere and overcome all obstacles. My storytelling days are over, but I still have a passion for writing. I used to write in a torn notebook, its pages the witness to my zeal and creativity. I can take some of the credit for that, but overall, I'm happy with myself. I do, nonetheless, doubt whether my writings would even get out of my hometown when the opportunities were so scarce. Now! I can witness, some light shyly beyond the end of the tunnel, and things that I thought out of reach are unraveling. It’s underway.

Dynamic and ambitious, I am plowing my spirit into my first piece in Vocal Media. Here I’ll share my adventures, my wishes, and the colorful life in my native country. I grind, I bleed, to send my message of hope, love, and oneness through the pages of my writings. A day like this marks my coming into this world phase equipped with a dream, fire, and steadfast belief that my words will be the tipping point of a revolution. Passionate about writing and ready to be the next great writer.

I learned that Vocal Media is not just a place where I can show my talent but also the place that will give me the opportunity to get mentorship, exposure, and participate in several writing challenges to develop my skills. The opportunity, support, and passionate community at Vocal Media will be the essence of my journey. Thus, in the deep of my village, there was a boy with a dream who began a journey that would make him one of the best writers in the universe. With Vocal Media, my voice would be above the rest, moving people, and demonstrating that no dream is too big and no dreamer is too small to make a difference in the world.
