YouTubers Highlight How Europe Has Fallen.
European Towns and Cities are all Suffering The Same.
Lately, I have taken to watching videos of random people, so-called "YouTubers", walking around the major towns and cities of Europe. People like Charlie Veitch, the Dutch Travel Maniac, and Kurt Caz walk through dystopian places. Places that have long ago given up the ghost of investment. Where buildings are boarded up, businesses closed down, people sleep on the streets, people addicted to drugs like spice stand like zombies, foreigners of every stripe hang out, and people openly argue on the street.
Charlie Veitch, for example, usually walks with a bodyguard selfie stick in hand, filming these dystopian areas. Charlie seeks out people who do not like being filmed, as many of them are criminals. Many of them move away, shouting they do not like being filmed and even confronting Charlie. There have been instances where Charlie has asked these people to step back. However, they have not listened, and Charlie has had to defend himself. Either that or his bodyguard has had to protect him. Veitch, in his approach, asks for what he gets as his approach is not exactly confrontational but neither is it shy. Veitch goes to Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield, showing the decay that is taking place in British cities. Where the police seem to stand back and allow crime.
As Veitch walks around these places, there are protests of one sort or another. Usually pro-Palestine, Veitch deliberately provokes these people. He also provokes Muslims and cheers on Christians' preaching. So Veitch is absolutely ring-wing and very pro-British. Veitch is recognised on the streets by people who know his YouTube Channel. He attracts as many haters as he does supporters.
Kurt Caz and Dutch Travel Maniac are similar to Charlie. But as well as focusing on British towns and cities, they also go to other European towns and cities. Kurt Caz has been to British towns and cities, usually with a bodyguard, seeking the poorer end of these places. Often getting the same reaction as Charlie Veitch. In predominantly areas where foreigners dominate, they say to him Stop filming us. However, Caz replies that this is Europe, not some God forsaken place in the Middle East or Africa. He is free to film whether they like it or not.
Dutch Travel Maniac is like Veitch going to areas of European towns and cities he is told are dangerous. The kind of areas where, if you see a Native European, you will be lucky. DTV, in his walks around these areas, often says, "Where are the European people"? Dutch Travel Maniac is not usually accompanied by a bodyguard and looks like he could handle himself if push comes to shove. And often people confront him over his filming in these areas. Sometimes these confrontations can get tense, but so far things have turned out okay. DTV, unlike Charlie or Kurt, does try to help homeless people by buying them a meal or something to drink. He intervenes if women are being bullied by men. More often than not, the police tell him to back off, and they'll handle it.
Many times, he encounters Native Europeans or even foreigners who are appalled at how their neighbourhood has changed. How, once nice areas have declined and become the hell holes they have become in recent years. When he encounters decent citizens, he often walks away after talking to them and calls them "good guys".
These so-called YouTubers are showing how Europe has declined. Where common factors of criminality and decline are the same all over Europe. What I thought was once a British problem, where areas no longer British, Christian, where there is homelessness, drug dealers and their spaced out clients, where you can be attacked for the slightest thing, boarded up shops, is a continent-wide European problem. However, there does seem to be an exception when it comes to Eastern Europe. Poland, for example, does not seem to be like this. Probably because when it comes to migration or investment, they have taken a different trajectory.
In the UK, a case I know about, areas have got poorer because governments of all hues have cut back on services. Services like the council, police, which provide help and support in the community, cannot do what they did. So the knock-on effect on towns and cities where ordinary people live is apparent in these videos. Where unfettered migration has set up ghettos and often, sadly, crime. Of course, it's not just foreigners up to no good, it's poorer Brits too. Shops and businesses shut down because they cannot afford the rates that the council or a private landlord is charging. Of course, internet shopping has not helped. It's so much easier to shop online than actually go out and shop. Hence, once thriving high streets have become ghost towns. Walk down any British high street and you'll see a plethora of Turkish barber shops, charity shops, betting shops, and Chinese nail bars.
So what can be done about these areas of decline? The answer is multifaceted, and the usual answer of governments, that one size fits all, will not work in this case.
