Why Colorado Summers Are the Best

The Perfect Excuse to Travel Every Summer

By Carlos FoxPublished 7 years ago 3 min read

Colorado is booming in all the right ways.

If you want to get a taste of why so many people are moving to Colorado without having to move there yourself and are also looking for a top-notch destination this summer, then we encourage travelers to spend some time in the Centennial State.

Here are just some of the reasons why Colorado summers are the best.

Hiking and Outdoor Activities

Thanks to the Rocky Mountains, Colorado is packed with hiking and outdoor activities.

From mountain biking and climbing to backpacking to boating and kayaking, Colorado is home to an endless amount of outdoor activities, which, of course, go hand in hand with summer.

It’s no wonder why Denver is considered one of the fittest cities in America and Colorado is considered one of the fittest states.

Catch a concert at Red Rocks.

Many people will say Red Rocks Amphitheater is one of the best places to watch a concert. Since it’s located outdoors and among breathtaking red rocks and views, it provides the perfect setting for an outdoor show unlike any other in America.

Red Rocks and the surrounding area is also big among hikers and bikers, and it provides other forms of entertainment, such as movies and yoga.

It doesn't get too hot.

Depending on where you are, of course, this state has a relatively mild temperature during the summer months. To put things into perspective, Denver’s average high temperature in June is 81, with July coming in at 88, and August 86. There’s certainly worse temperatures to spend your summers in.

Of course, if you’re a Colorado resident, then you’ll want to make sure to scope out an AC repair Colorado Springs, CO as 88 degrees can still get rather hot in a home without AC. Luckily, places like Colorado Springs do provide, to put it mildly, ideal summer night temperatures.

Amusement parks are for all ages.

The Mile High City is home to amusements parks for all ages, such as Elitch Gardens, Water World, and Lakeside Amusement Park.

So not only is Colorado arguably one of the best places for hiking and outdoor activities, but it also features plenty of other fun summer options for the entire family.

Catch a baseball game at Coors Field.

All four major sports (Major League Baseball, National Football League, National Basketball League, and National Hockey League) are played in the downtown area of Denver, which includes the Colorado Rockies, who play at Coors Field.

Since Coors Field is located downtown, travelers can easily get around and enjoy a nice stroll to a game during the summer. Coors Field is also considered one of the top ballparks in Major League Baseball, according to Forbes.

National Parks

Four national parks call Colorado home in national parks Rocky Mountain, Mesa Verde, Great Sand Dunes, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

The Garden of the Gods, also in Colorado, was named as one of the 10 most popular attractions in the US for spring 2017.

The Desirability of Colorado Springs and Denver

According to US News & World Report, Colorado Springs and Denver are some of the best places to live in America, with Colorado Springs coming in at number two and Denver number three. Even more telling is that this was based on “the 125 most populous metro areas to find the best places to live.”

Both cities have so much to offer and people love living there, and it’s no wonder why Colorado as a whole brings it during the summer months—and for many, all year long.

People love living in Colorado. After spending a summer vacation in the Rocky Mountains, we won’t blame you for talking to Denver commercial real estate companies and eventually relocating your business and your life to Colorado.
