3 Ways to "Read Art" at a Museum. Top Story - September 2022.
My children are spoiled. In many ways, but in this article I'm referring to their exposure to arts and culture, and particularly to museums. They won't realize how spoiled they are until they grow up and realize that not everyone else's mom worked in museums let alone at a leadership level in museums and could provide unlimited access to the extraordinary.

Exploring Sedona Vortexes
Exploring a vortex is an experience. In October 2019, I traveled to Sedona, Arizona with my mom and youngest brother. We stayed in a lovely airbnb in Cornville, 25 minutes from Sedona. It was on a beautiful property with a water fall and pomegranate trees. It was a perfect place to retreat to from the busyness of Sedona.

The Long Road Trip
It was a nice summer day, and I was bored. I wanted to go somewhere today. So, you bet I was excited when my parents said we were going on a road trip to the beach! I went to my room and started packing my bag. I usually have my bag packed, but I didn't go anywhere for the school year so I didn't pack my bag. I packed a towel, snacks, a water bottle, my iPad, 2 storybooks, and my journal. My parents also brought a cooler.

Road Trips are Coming Back in Style
During my sixth-grade year, I took a road trip with my father. My father was a radio astronomer, professor at Umass, and part-time consultant at NASA. We went to California on business; it was the trip of a life time. We landed in Sacramento and travelled for three weeks on the road until we reached our destination. Airline travel was so very different then, but I learned a lot about his work in radio astronomy and we stopped at all kinds of little and unique places and that have given me a love for little and unique museums.
