A Wave of Change
It's crazy how her body felt so warm and so cool at the same time. This was her first time on the open sea, and she had never felt this sensation before. Above her, the beaming Caribbean sun heated her skin. From the bow of the small sailboat, the northern wind cooled her, almost to a chill. It reminded her of the hot peach cobbler and ice cream she loved to eat back home.

Esperanza
The transformation from desperation to dejection, and then to a somber acquiescence was, in a way, a relief. Pushing aside the piles of invoices, credit card statements, and scribbled calculations, I turned off the old desk lamp, and for a moment the entire universe seemed to dissolve into darkness. If only I could remain in that peaceful abyss forever....

It's Not Over Yet
When the tiger shark made direct eye contact with me, I stepped back automatically, drawing in a sharp breath. Giant rays, and fish in every colour glided around and over the aquarium’s plexiglass tunnel where I waited. Although I didn’t understand why Caroline said to be here in this spot, on this day, at this time, I was here and completely immersed in the experience. The bright sun filtered through from above, while the blue light and ocean soundtrack gave a sense of actually being on the ocean floor. It was mesmerizing.

Cart Boy
I don’t know why it was always Florida for me, but it was. Something about it was beckoning. Maybe it was because I grew up in Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes. You know, a lake beach is really not the same as an ocean beach. I can say that with certainty now. I never thought I’d stay here. Of course, I had dreams of New York or Los Angeles, but life happened for me here.

The Golden Room
During mediation in our garden sunroom today I felt a surge of energy rise up my spine. It was as if some internal spark had been ignited; Of course I know what to do. I’ve spent so long in domestic role play I’ve forgotten my free spirit. It’s time for a vacation. During supper I opened up to Harry about my current feelings. I explained to him that if I didn’t break free soon I’d break indefinitely. Before I could finish my thought he nodded; “Sweetheart, I’ve wanted to send you away for sometime, I just didn’t want you to take offense since you’ve been so wrapped up in supporting us. Where would you like to go?” I sunk into the wing back dinning chair as my mind siphoned through its premarital adventures. Harry continued with aurora and Dev. Sometimes it amazes me how a man can be so good to his family.

Rightful Owner
“What a day!” Marguerite thought as she plopped herself down on the blanket in the middle of the park and gazed at the rapidly changing colors of the dusk skies. A child’s humming voice in the distance prompted her to turn her head and look to the left.

An Unexpected Day
The sun wasn't all the way up as she slowly paddled out to sea. Lying on her belly, she made long strokes from her board. She loved this time of day; the tween time. The sun was slowly coming up and the day was dawning. The energy was alive and electric but most of the world was still asleep, safe and sound in their homes and their lives. The ocean creatures were swirling about below her, just out of sight. She could sense them, but hadn't fully tuned into them yet. She was waiting for her mind to quiet. Who was she kidding though, her mind never stopped going. She'd been divorced now for many years and had grown accustomed to and loved her new found freedom and independence. She was a full time single mom and worked three jobs to support herself and her son. She didn't shy away from life or responsibilities, rather, she raced to meet them headlong. She and her son were inseparable; old souls that had embraced the ancient blood that coursed through their veins. They lived on the edges of the tween times. She rarely had time to herself but her son knew better than she when she needed it. “Go to the sea mom, she's calling you”

Islet Of The Ibis
On the ancient sandy shore of the island paradise in Aswan, Egypt, a father and son explore the grounds of a botanical garden. Royal Palm Tree groves reaching up to clear blue skies and exotic flowering plants imported from India and Africa, peacefully sway to the warm summer breeze blowing off the Nile River. Rays of sunshine beaming through the palm leaves spotlight the brilliant foliage, enhancing the colors and glistening dew of every flower it reaches. In the distance, Egyptian Egrets and Ground Geese can be heard squawking at the fisherman returning to the Warf on Felucca vessels with their day’s catch.
