When in Rome
When in Rome I have always believed the advice, that when in Rome, do as the Romans do. And on a trip to France I had memorable opportunities to do so, culminating in a spectacular embarrassment. But let me tell you how I was culturally groomed for that moment.

The Antonine Way, Scotland
Most people have heard of Hadrian’s Wall which was built on the orders of Emperor Hadrian across northern England and completed around the year AD 128. The Emperor had decided that there was a limit as to how far north the Empire could be extended, and this was it. Although he was happy for trade to continue with the people living north of the Wall, he saw no point in imposing Roman rule on them and undertaking the expense of so doing.

What You Should Know If You Want to Move to Europe
A parental home is a comfort zone that is often difficult or, sometimes, even impossible to leave. Back in 2017, I left my home country to get a master’s degree in Europe. I moved to Hungary alone without knowing what awaited me once my plane landed in a new place. My parents were far away. There was no one waiting for me in Hungary. I was surrounded by new people, new culture, and a new language.

What Is Poland?
If you live within the Commonwealth of Nations, it would be safe to assume that Poland isn't at the top of your list of holiday destinations. I'm not going to blame you; and, it’s not my intention to try to sway you to visit Poland during a standard two-week American holiday (if you are among the lucky few that are graciously endowed with this much time off per year); especially not during a pandemic, for at present, Covid-19 continues to rage on. We all know that Poland is not just beaches and sunshine anyway; so, what is Poland?

Brexit Britain, from an inside lens
You may have read a few stories about all the drama coming out of Brexit Britain, but what if I told you that I had a strikingly unique story? It’s a story of the personal account of someone that entered the UK immediately after the referendum, only to leave a few years later, as the exit date was finalized. But what’s special about that? After all, there are many personal accounts as well as entire books dedicated to the essence of Brexit; therefore, what insight could he possibly have that hasn’t already been shared thousands of times over?

Walk Among the Dead
These are the places where tourists usually don’t roam. They don’t realize that among the quiet and the gravestones there are a lot of interesting monuments and even architecture to see. Cemeteries are most likely not on anyone’s list when they travel abroad unless they have a few ancestors they want to visit. However, cemeteries hide the secrets of the past and even though you may think that there are shadows following you everywhere I don’t think it’s a bad idea to take a tour through a cemetery.
