Walk Among the Ghosts of the Past
Cahawba, Alabama has an interesting history. It was the capital of the state of Alabama from 1820 to 1825 until it flooded so many times residents had to flee. Then for many years, Cahawba remained a hub of cotton distribution. The town was the home of the Confederate Castle Morgan prison during the Civil War where thousands of Union soldiers were imprisoned between 1863 and 1865 when another flood cleared the town. By the 1900s most of the buildings were demolished.

Eighteen Days On the Road
First off let me start with the fact that I am 54 and have only been out of state twice that I can remember. Oregon for 10 months, and I drove with a friend across 5 states which we never stopped in any of them, straight to Missoula, Montana, and that is it. So, my husband and I decided as soon as the ban to travel was lifted we were going on a long vacation. We were only going to take about ten days because he works for the government and he didn't want to be gone to long because for some reason he and his friend are the only two who do the job they do, so he was worried about coverage at work. I quickly reminded him that when things went south recently and he was working 100 to 130 hour weeks, they didn't care if he was working himself to death. He literally worked 6 days per week and was on call for the one day off he would get. He does love his job but enough is enough. So, he went to work the next day and made plans (after we discussed it) to take two weeks off, and put in for it that day!

Rambling about Cities and New Jersey
Urban development is a topic that is not too popular in writer’s circles, but it is a great passion and pastime of mine. The impact of a city on its surrounding region and the culture it disseminates says more about who we are than we’d like to admit sometimes. Every region has its city, so much that the people of that region can often say they’re going to the city and others know exactly which one they mean. It is the center of not only the local culture, but also its religion, its history, its economy, even its playground.

Best Places To Visit In California
Some of the best things you can do in California include tourist attractions like Napa Valley, Disneyland, Big Sur, and Lake Tahoe. You can stand outside and enjoy the amazing views of Yosemite Valley, Vernal Falls, the clouds, and all of Nevada Falls. In California, there is only one highway, where one can drive from the wine country to the beaches and mountains along the coast.

Oil and Midland, Texas
I've lived in Midland since a child of eight years old and now I am 50 years older. How in the hell did I stay out here in the desert and live is a bit confusing to a reader that has never been here. Midland produces 1/3 of the world's oil supply and Americans should be proud of that fact. This is American soil and American companies doing hard work. The work is dangerous out in the oilfield even with specialized equipment for safety in place the oil business is rough on a soul.
