Stranded On A Mountainside
My partner, daughter ( who was about twelve at the time), and I were on the road after spending Christmas in the USA in a winter wonderland. We planned to head off to Death Valley as we had never been there in the winter months. We thought it might be more pleasant temperature-wise than on previous trips when the sun beat down on us mercilessly and totally sapped us of energy every time we left the comfort of our car. We have experienced these fierce temperatures here in Australia during our travels and personally, I don’t enjoy scorching in the searing sun. However, if you want to see our amazing world you have to suffer discomfort sometimes.

The Buried History of LA's Oldest Tourist Trap
The Venice Canals, and, by extension, the surrounding area of Venice, are a testament to the deception inherent in the inauthentic tourism traps throughout Los Angeles. Home to the most instagrammed house in the world and located adjacent to Venice Beach, the Venice Canals are arguably one of the most popular tourist destinations throughout the entire city. Rows of houses, each with their own unique architectural style, and footbridges connecting footpaths adorned with shrubbery makes the location’s beauty undeniable. There is a majestic aura to the awe-inspiring sights of the Venice Canals similar to what one may feel approaching the Eiffel Tower. These beachside waterways, however, more closely resemble the cheap knock-off Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas than the original thing.

Southwestern Road Trip 2021: Overview
My wife and I just went on an 11-day southwestern road trip December 18-28 and visited 5 National Parks that we hadn’t visited before: Saguaro NP and Petrified Forest NP in Arizona, White Sands NP and Carlsbad Caverns NP in New Mexico, and Guadalupe Mountains NP in Texas. And added a bonus: The Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque, also never visited before.
