Small towns in the Beehive State

On the shores of Bear Lake, enjoy Garden City.
Bear Lake is surrounded by rolling hills. Visitors enjoy hiking, swimming, sailing, and water skiing.

In the winter, Garden City offers snowmobiling fields, a ski area, and plenty of trails to snowshoe along.

Green River has less than 1,000 residents but has plenty of natural settings like the Desolation and Gray Canyons.

Visit the John Wesley Powell Museum, exhibiting adventure boats once used to explore the waterways of the state, before the invention of rubber rafts.

Located in the Wasatch Mountains, Heber is a small town that will take you back to the Wild West days.

The Heber Valley Historic Railroad Line runs through the town.

Relax at the Deer Creek Reservoir.

Take a hike to natural sites like Mount Timpanogos in the Wasatch Mountains.

You can explore the Uinta Mountain Range from the small town of Kamas.

Enjoy hiking to the Provo River Falls.

Start off exploring Zion National Park or Bryce Canyon National Park from the small town of Kanab. There is plenty of recreation to look for in this area, like hiking, rafting, horseback riding, and camping.

Midway is located near the Wasatch State Park. Every year the town hosts Swiss Days, a celebration paying tribute to Switzerland.

At the Homestead Crater, a cone-shaped crater with water temperatures reaching up to 96 degrees, you can snorkel or scuba dive.

Midway is a great winter destination with skiing at the Park City Ski Resort.

The only small town in Utah from which you can visit two of the five national parks within the state’s borders is Moab. Recreation includes hiking, biking, rafting, canoeing, and hot air balloon tours.

The town is known for the famous red sandstone arch in Arches National Park.

You can enjoy natural wonders in nearby Canyonlands National Park.

The buildings of Mt. Pleasant have been preserved to reflect the pioneer era. Their Main Street is listed on the National Historic Register.

Among the highlights is the LDS Tabernacle

The Fairview Museum of History and Art has artwork and relics that tell stories of the region’s past.

At the Mt. Pleasant Winery, you can enjoy wine and cheese every Saturday.

You’ll find Western-style architecture in Panguitch. The town’s main road is featured on the National Register of Historic Places. The town was settled by pioneers who experienced searching for food in the winter through deep snow. Their endurance saved the settlement, so every year the town celebrated Quilt Walk Festival, since the pioneers wrapped themselves up in thick quilts to survive the cold.

You can fish at Panguitch Lake.

Enjoy the rock formations near Price.

The rock formations resemble castles, dinosaur sites, and ancient Native American petroglyphs.

Some of the highlights you can enjoy are The Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry

and take a horseback ride along Luke’s Trail.

Springtown is the gateway to Zion National Park. This town takes pride in its many celebrations and events, some of which include creating giant Jell-O sculptures, an Elvis Extravaganza, art displays, and so much more.

Enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of Zion National Park. Hike the trails and look for wildlife that live in the park.

For pie lovers, there is Veyo, which is famous for their Veyo pies.

Walk off the calories at Crawdad Canyon, a rock climbing park. You can spend the night in Crawdad Canyon, a protected resort.
