Partying in Europe on New Year’s Eve
How some European countries ring in the New Year

Waiting for the New Year to ring in do you sometimes wonder what people in other countries are doing? Here are some ways European countries enjoy the New Year with plenty of fireworks.

Vienna, Austria is known for its Grand Ball at Hofburg Palace. This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing to do as tickets have to be purchased way ahead of time and there is a dress code but if you have ever dreamed about dancing in a palace this is something to consider. I have posted the photo of the Grand Ball and the photo of fireworks at an amusement park in Vienna is at the top of this article. Just imagine dancing at a ball with ladies in long gowns and gentlemen in tuxedos. You can also choose to have fun among the crowds the Christmas markets turn into New Year’s fairs and the crowds love to follow the Silvesterpfed or New Year’s Trail which takes you through the center of the city and you can taste many delicious foods along the way. On New Year’s Day everyone gathers at City Hall and they can enjoy the world-renowned New Year’s Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on a huge screen.

In Brussels, Belgium you can choose among 10 different clubs and venues to party on New Year’s Eve which organize special parties for people of all tastes under the name “Happy Brussels”. You can also choose to head for the Grand Place the central square and party with the happy crowds where you can enjoy yourselves with beer, chocolate, and lots of fun all through the night. Just remember when it comes to midnight it is traditional to offer best wishes to others with three kisses to every person you meet at midnight. It could keep you busy for quite a while.

You can choose to go to London, England where during the daytime you can visit the amazing Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park.

Then head into the crowds gathered along the banks of the Thames where at midnight there is a spectacular display of lights and fireworks. For some awesome views, you can head for the London Sky Bar’s New Year’s Eve with live DJs. If you wish for the excitement to continue then take in the annual New Year’s Day Parade where over 8.500 artists from different countries join in.

I think most people would find it romantic to enjoy New Year’s Eve in Paris, France with the Eiffel Tower all lit up beautifully. It is also the site of the midnight fireworks display and light show. Before that, you can enjoy partying along the Champs-Elysees and perhaps start up a very long conga line after all you’re in Paris. If you prefer you can go to the Montmartre and take in the magical Paris skyline. If you want romance take the dinner cruise on board the “Bateau Monuche” as it sails on the Seine River with the lights of Paris all around you. There is something magical about a New Year's Eve in this city.

If you would find yourself traveling in Europe on New Year’s Eve you would like to find some exciting places to party. One of them would be in Berlin, Germany. The city center suddenly becomes a street party that stretches from the Brandenburg Gate to the Victory Column. It has become known as the “party mile” and offers everyone a really good time. You’ll find food stalls, party tents, music stages, laser shows and so much fun you might never want to leave. When midnight comes fireworks fill the sky and afterward, you can go on dancing till the morning light.
