My stay at Chateau Elan

I was saving up for this trip for a while and I had the help of my family and the guy in my life to go. With everything going on in my life I needed a break. I also wanted to experience staying at the inn. At the end of this post I will give my tips and what I will do different next time. I will also give my instagram name that I use for my traveling and paranormal pictures.

So for those who don't know Chateau Elan is a winery, resort and spa that has a golf course. It also has a racquetball area, tennis courts, equestrian area, restaurants and bars. They grow their own grapes (I believe all of them are muscadine). It is located in Braselton Georgia which is a hour east of Atlanta. It was built in the 1980s and have gone through a renovation that cost 25 millions dollars last year. It looks so amazing.

Like I said earlier I wanted to experience staying at the inn. So I started saving up last year and I asked my family and dude for money for the trip as gifts for Christmas and my birthday. So when I got their money I put it into the fund for the trip. Then after the new year they had a flash sale for the leap year and I made the decision to book then. I also booked my spa treatment. I had to wait a month or so for the trip to come.

When it finally came time to go I gathered my bags and called the uber. The drive usually takes 45 minutes to an hour so it's not too terrible, just long. So I finally got there after some traffic and what seemed like a long trip. Check in is around 4 pm but I got there kind of early and they let me check in before 4. After I checked in, I found my room and made my way to the winery for the tasting and tour.

The tour is free for overnight guest but you have to pay for the tasting. You can also book the tour and the tasting online, booking online can save $5 on the tasting. The winery is a short walk from the inn. You just have to walk across the driveway like road that runs through most of the property and up some stairs. If you can't go up stairs just hop on the shuttle or walk around on the driveway. So I did the tasting they let you pick any 7 wines from their long list of wines. They also do wines for valentines. My favorites are the muscadines and the ones with flavors in them. After the tasting I did the tour with a couple other people where we learned about the vines and the process of making the wine.

After the tour I went back to my room to wind down in the bathtub. After that I walked over to Paddy's Irish pub for a quick bite to eat. I had the potato skins with ranch to dip them in. They were awesome by the way. I went back to my room to watch the masked singer. So after that I went to Louis House of Bourbon that was in the hotel. The house of bourbon was a part of the renovations. It was crowded because the other bars were closed. I decided to only have one drink because of the wine I had earlier and after my drink I went back to my room. I watched a little TV and went to bed.

The next day I woke up around 8 and I decided just to get ready for my day. I went down to the spa and asked them if I could pay for my pedicure and enjoy everything the spa had to offer. They said I could so I spent some time in the indoor hot tub and the indoor pool. Then I went to lunch at Sarazen’s Bar & Grille and hung out with a friend. When I went back to the spa I got ready for my pedicure. They pedicurist was very nice. I ended up getting the hot stone pedicure. I went to the steam room and the hot sauna then went to the hot tub and pool.

After enjoying everything, I went to my room to get ready for my aunt to come. We went to the winery so I could get a bottle of wine and a wine glass. We then had a glass of wine at Marc. Marc and the wine tasting room are in the same building. Then we went to Paddy's for dinner. After dinner my aunt went home after seeing what my room looked like. I wondered around the vineyard a little bit before going to get my purse so that I could go to the house of bourbon. I wanted to sit at the bar for a glass of wine before going back to my room. When I went to my room I poured another glass of wine for myself and dug into the piece of cake my aunt got for me. I also soaked in the tube later that night.

I woke up the next morning kind of early and decided to walk one of trails behind the inn before packing up. I also got a bottle of muscadine wine at the gift shop. After packing up I went around the property to take pictures. I felt kind of sad leaving but I went to my room to make sure I got everything. As soon as I made sure I had everything I gathered up my bags and checked out. I called the uber to go to my grandparent's house.

What do I want to do next time? Well eat at different places and also drink some different mixed drinks or maybe even more wine. I also want to buy more bottles of wine to take home. I also want to get more spa services. Also next time I will charge my spa services to my room I also recommend you do so as well. It just makes things easier.

Now for the tips and the know before you go section. I would highly suggest saving up for the food, drinks and spa services for a bit. They have wine tastings and events so look into those. To save money on the room look out for deals on their site or use the discount sites. It's a fun experience it's nice sometimes to get a break.
