Fourth of July Packing List
Sunglasses: don’t want to let the glare off the ocean or the bright noon sun ruin your day! Sunscreen: even if you think you’ll be in the shade, always make sure you’ve got SPF 30—a sunburn on such a fun day would be a real tragedy :( Water bottles: you’ll want to stay hydrated, especially if you end up doing a bit more exercise than you had originally planned… Drawstring backpack: stores a lot, is super cute, and is easy to pick up and close in order to make a speedy exit. Map of the area or Google Maps: it’s always good to know all the cute little coffee shops in the area and all the possible escape routes for leaving the fireworks display. Wouldn’t want to be stuck in a corner when you need to move fast… Charged phone: for snapping great instagram photos, taking videos of the fireworks, recording people sprinting for cover, checking Twitter for info about what’s going on, finding friends after losing each other in the chaos, and navigating routes home after cops close off streets for manhunts. Running shoes: the last thing you’d want is to be caught in sandals when sprinting away from an active shooter. Total fashion faux pas.

Stranded at the Airport
I'm the person who boards your flight last Or, close to last. Not because I overslept or missed a connection from another airline or I couldn't find the right gate. I'm what the airlines refer to as "non-rev" or "space available" or, in civilian parlance, a standby passenger.

I Was Almost T-Boned by a Figher Jet - My Wildest Travel Story. Top Story - July 2022.
Early in my marriage, I accompanied my husband overseas to his first duty station in Keflavik, Iceland. It was my first time living outside of the U.S., and Iceland did not disappoint. We went whale watching in Faxaflói, dog sledding on Langjokull Glacier, and chased the waves on the black sand beach.

Yes, it’s going to be that time of the year again– those events at the end of the year to make everyone merry and drink lots of themed cocktails and beers. These office parties are often held to show appreciation to employees for a year of hardwork and maybe for some, the only chance to bond and team-build. The venue makes for more than half of the success in such parties and if you still haven't found yours, check out this list.

Road Trips are Coming Back in Style
During my sixth-grade year, I took a road trip with my father. My father was a radio astronomer, professor at Umass, and part-time consultant at NASA. We went to California on business; it was the trip of a life time. We landed in Sacramento and travelled for three weeks on the road until we reached our destination. Airline travel was so very different then, but I learned a lot about his work in radio astronomy and we stopped at all kinds of little and unique places and that have given me a love for little and unique museums.

The American Shock: From Atrocity to Beauty and Back Again. Top Story - July 2022.
I am not an American. I am hardly even European. My country is one of those poor Eastern European ones, trapped between the old continent and big monstrous Russia, hardly part of Europe’s culture. A gate between heaven and hell.

Six Things I Love About Argentina, and Why You Should Visit
I spent all of the lockdown in Argentina. I went to Argentina feeling that a lockdown was unavoidable. I knew that I loved the country, and I knew Buenos Aires, as I spent four months the prior year in Argentina.

Kathmandu Heritage tour
We will begin our journey with a drive towards Pashupatinath Temple in a private tourist bus/van early in the morning. Pashupatinath Temple is on the holy Bagmati Riverbank in the eastern part of the Kathmandu valley. This temple was reconstructed in the 5th century after the earlier one got destroyed by termites. Pashupatinath Temple is one of the sacred temples of Hindus in Nepal devoted to Lord Shiva. Over a million pilgrims visit this temple every year to worship Shiva during the significant festival of Maha Shivaratri. In addition, the temple complex includes numerous small temples devoted to many other deities. One of the fascinating things about this monument is you will get to see divine Aarti (devotion) on one bank of the Bagmati river and people getting incinerated on the other bank
