Back to Roots...
I grew up on a farm in a small rural town of Muskoka. It was 200 acres of field and forest with limitless opportunities for new places to explore. My childhood was full of snowmobiling, tobogganing, skiing, biking, hiking, swimming, boating, and the hateful daily task of rounding up cows from the neighbors. There was no shortage of outdoor activities and chores. We didn't have phones and tablets those days and we were okay with that. It made us who we are today. Quite often my mother could be heard yelling for me to come in for dinner but I often ignored as I had better things to do. It was much more important to climb a tree or explore the barns to retrieve some animal or treasure.

10 More of the Best Tin Foil Camping Recipes
My son Jarret is with his mother during the week but with me on the weekend, so I try to plan events that facilitate bonding. I want him to have a lot of fun memories with me and not just think of me as a source of pain because of the divorce. Also, as he grows older and I venture out into dating again it's going to be important that he and I have the sort of relationship where we're comfortable being emotionally vulnerable. So, a camping trip is perfect for that, especially over the best tin foil camping recipes for your next outing. In fact, there are so many great tin foil camping recipes that here's 10 more!

The Forest
Walking into the forest, I see trees rooted into the ground growing tall from many years; starting as a seed planted long ago from a bird flying high. I see leaves of the trees with their greenish color and I see the lines across the many leafs, different on every leaf. I also see dark brown of the bark on the trees leading to branches shooting every which way with different sizes and different amount of leaves. I see insects scurrying across the bark of the trees heading to wherever they can go trying to survive day in and day out; some of them are small, some are big, some have wings, and others crawl, they're all interlocked into a cycle of survival trying not to be eaten.

Are Cruises Worth It?
I had a BIG summer last year. In June, I went to Disney World in Orlando, then immediately after drove to Miami with three other family members to depart on my first cruise. Then in July I spent three weeks in Europe. I have to say, the easiest of all three was my Carnival cruise. Yes, you know, the famous cruise line that pretty much everyone knows about? I, like most first timers, was apprehensive considering I am an explorer when I travel. But now, almost a year later, I can reflect back and say I truly had a great time and my cruise judgments were broken. I promise to give a 100% honest review of the good and the bad, but mostly the good.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Original "Pooped Pirate" scene from the first 30 years. On first glance, the premise of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction might seem to be one of the most morally objectionable premises for a family-friendly attraction. A group of pirates invade, loot, and burn to the ground a colonial Caribbean seaport. Along the way, they torture city officials, drink rum like there's no tomorrow, and drunkenly sing about the joys of piracy as the city burns around them.

Why I Chose Haiti...
Ayiti, beautiful Haiti! I love Haiti for a number of reasons, all tied to how this nation changed my life. Although the country is known for being poverty-stricken and high in human trafficking, there are so many beautiful things about this country that we fail to openly discuss. My goal is to share Haiti's magic and explain to you why I chose to give my heart to the people here. I am forever grateful for my time and opportunity in the land of high mountains!

What I Did With One Day in Havana. Top Story - June 2018.
With all that Havana, Cuba has to offer the prospect of spending just a day in the infamous city seemed overwhelming. Our trip to Havana was via the Norwegian Sky, a cruise ship that makes the trip from Miami to Havana and a private island in the Bahamas and back again weekly. Traveling on a cruise is always nice because it requires little planning on the part of the traveler (and you can't go wrong with a cruise that offers an open bar, am I right?). The downside to cruising is the minimal amount of time available to spend exploring the ports.
