The Grass Is Always Greener on the Other Side
"Your life looks like a dream, I'm so jealous, I wish I could be where you are so badly" are all things that I hear from people in my Instagram DMs regularly. I live in Paris, where I have been living for six months now. It has been amazing, but it has also been some of the hardest months of my life. I can promise you that anyone, ANYONE, who you see on social media posting envy-worthy photos of croissants and cafés at a cute Parisian cafe, or posing on a beach in Barcelona with a plate of tapas and a huge smile, is not living life like that at every moment. Living somewhere far from home is hard, it pushes you out of your comfort zone. Not being fluent in whichever language is spoken in your chosen country makes thoughtless daily tasks a new challenge. It's exhausting, thinking over exactly what words you are going to say just to order something. Feeling embarrassed, guilty even, for not knowing the language fluently. Feeling incompetent. Feeling lonely, because you can only be friends with people who speak your language, and that's if you can find them, which can sometimes be hard. You will experience discomfort that you will have likely never experienced, or maybe even considered, in your home country.

Plot Twist!!
It Has Been Said That If You Are Not Correcting Your Course Frequently You Aren't Living Life To Its Fullest... I tend to agree. This is why I take these course corrections with a grain of salt and don't let them bother me. I am sometimes completely amazed at how long I will grapple with a decision and the moment I make that decision and feel good about it, something intervenes and forces me to correct my course.

Dubai - The Most Wondrous City in the World
Today, Dubai has become one of (if not the) best tourist attractions in the world as the city has plenty of monumental structures. The diverse facilities from Dubai trips and travel packages and man-made creations within the city do not fail to amaze any single body who comes to visit. There is no doubt that you have heard about the ‘Burj Arab,’ which is the world’s tallest building ever, and the man-made islands ‘Three Palms and the World,’ which itself is an amazing creation.

Where the Dead Birds Sing
There can be few things in this wonderful world as sweet as birdsong. Be it the chorus of shrill excited chatter that pre-empts a storm or the dawn and dusk expressions of joy as they anticipate the feeding frenzy known as the crepuscular zone. Many of us have woken to the harmonic beauty of birds calling throughout our lives. It's something that I have been fortunate enough to enjoy across the world from Yorkshire to Africa via Asia and even parts of the Middle East. Until that is, I moved to Malta.

Peaks Island
We bought tickets and took the noontime ferry three miles out to Peaks Island. Crossing Casco Bay, the rain whipped up, making the islands look drab and forlorn. Michael guided us, retracing his evening commute from the 80s and 90s, when he’d lived on the island but worked in Portland. We hadn’t expected a greeting party, but Jesse was waiting for us and we piled into the back of his truck with his tools.
