How to Save When on a Trip in China
Travel china
If you aren't keen on overspending but you still want to visit China, then you will need a few tips on how to manage your money and itinerary plans for your visit. Read through this article and you'll find means to reduce your costs whether you are travelling with family or solo.
Plan ahead and be flexible
When it comes to travelling on a budget there are somethings that you might have to forego to save money. For instance, you might not be able to visit all the places you were hoping to visit in China which is a vast land. Nonetheless, each small area has so much to see and do and so many experiences to offer. Therefore, narrow down the list of places you want to visit in China and focus on exploring them completely.
There are several tour packages and even flights that will allow you to save a lot of cash. The best thing to do in this case is to do some research and make sure to select tours and flights that are cheap yet offer some value for the money you spend.
Travel off-peak
This is one of the best ways to explore any destination and it is the same for China as well. The winter season in China is very cold and therefore is the off-season here. However, there are several plus sides to this as well. The winter is quite chilly but is the driest season in China, so expect much less rain than during the peak season.
In the winter flight tickets have major discounts on them and even accommodation in Hefei and the rest of the country are at a lower cost. Hotels such as Somerset Swan Lake Hefei will have special offers during this season. Instead of going for budget hotels, you might have a chance of trying your luck at a 4 or 5-star hotel too. Tour packages will also have special offers and discounts during winter.
Use public transport
In China, you don't have to worry about comfort when it comes to public transport because it is fairly comfortable to travel on buses and trains. If you don't mind spending some time travelling, then opt for public transport. Trains and buses are always available at the assigned timings for each location. Even if you are travelling over-night public transport is always available. Long-distance buses have even lower prices than the usual ones if it's the night bus. Check on the bus schedules and how you can tally it with your itinerary.
Visit free sights and eat cheap food
The reason why China is a loved tourist destination is that there is so much to see and do even in one small area. There are those attractions that require an entrance fee and some attractions that are completely free. For instance, visiting an ancient temple is completely free, watching a tai-chi session in the park is also a free attraction.
When it comes to food, everyone likes Chinese and because of this, there is no need to spend much on food too. You can still experience the flavours of China if you hit the little eateries that locals usually patronise.
Bargain on souvenirs
If you can't afford to hit the tourist supermarkets and larger malls, just opt for the markets instead where prices are cheaper. You can further bargain here unlike souvenir shops at the attractions itself. Clothes are also available at these markets for the lowest prices, but you can still bargain and lower it further. This will definitely be a big saving.
