Hershey a World of Chocolate

Hershey is the town that was created for the workers at Milton Hershey’s Chocolate Factory.

Hersheypark the theme park just loved by families and people of all ages. It features roller coasters, various rides, themed areas, entertainment, and places to eat and relax. In the beginning, it was created for the employees working at the chocolate factory and today it is a major attraction for tourists. There are six themed areas – Founder’s Way winds through the park from the main gate to a junction where you’ll find Kissing Tower Hill, The Hollow, and Pioneer Frontier meeting up and then there is Midway America and The Boardwalk with themed shops, restaurants, rides, and attractions.

Hershey's Chocolate World is a popular attraction. You can get a guided chocolate tour through the chocolate factory, create your own personalized Hershey’s chocolate bar, watch a 4-D movie “Mystery of Chocolate” and sample plenty of Hershey’s chocolate. Take the Chocolate Trolley for a historical tour that tells the story of Milton Hershey and the town he built. There is an onsite bakery with lots of delicious sweets, a large food court, and Hershey’s Dessert Creation Studio.

Hershey Gardens opened in 1937 is a beautiful botanical garden that overlooks the town of Hershey. You can see a collection of rare, signature trees and shrubs, themed gardens, and seasonal floral displays. Take a look at the lovely Historic Hershey Rose Garden, the Japanese Garden, and the Herb Garden. Adults and children enjoy the Butterfly Atrium with thousands of free-flying butterflies. It is only one of 25 indoor, tropical butterfly atriums in the country. There is also an interactive Children’s Garden.

The AACA Museum is a place for automobile lovers and is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute. It is dedicated to the preservation of vintage automobiles. The museum features a collection of vintage autos and interactive exhibits with a range of cars, motorcycles, buses, and other vehicles from the 1890s to the 1980s. Visitors can enjoy self-guided tours or guided group tours. There are educational programs and workshops for children and it hosts automobile-related events all year long.

The Hershey Story is an interactive museum that offers the story of Milton S. Hershey and how it all began. There are different interactive and informative exhibits, displays, and collections, that highlight Hershey’s history, lifestyle, and legacy. In the Chocolate Lab, you can make your own chocolate, you can sample hot chocolate and truffles from around the world. You can relax and have something to eat at Café Zooka and get chocolate memorabilia at the store.

ZooAmerica – North America Wildlife Park is a walk-through zoo adjacent to Hersheypark. There are tree-lined pathways and more than 200 animals from five regions of North America. Regions there include Big Sky Country, Eastern Woodlands, the Great Southwest, Northlands, and Southern Swamps. The park offers several educational programs.

Founders Hall at the Milton Hershey School is a stately monument that is dedicated to Milton and Catherine Hershey for their contribution to society. It is one of the most unique and awesome pieces of architecture in central Pennsylvania. There is a Visitors Center and you can get guided tours of the monument.

Cullari Vineyards and Winery is the only winery and vineyard in Hershey. This is a small boutique wine-producing company that produces a variety of wines. About 25,000 bottles are produced per year.

The Giant Center is a multi-purpose arena that is home to the Hershey Bears ice hockey team. They became a member of the American Hockey League in 1938 making the team the longest existing member of the league. The arena also hosts other events including rock concerts.

Troegs Brewing Company was established in 1997 and produces six year-round and five seasonal beers. Beers like HopBack and Amber Ale among others are distributed nationwide. Visitors enjoy self-guided tours that begin in the Tasting Room. Informative signage along the way explains the brewing process. Guided tours offer samplings of the products and a take-home souvenir glass.

Hershey Theater is a historic theater that opened in 1933. The major benefactor is Milton S. Hershey. The theater hosts classical music concerts, dance performances, touring Broadway shows, and performances by world-class entertainers. The interior is lavish with a polished Italian lava rock floor, marble, a painted ceiling, and much more.

The Hersheypark Stadium opened in 1939 and is a sporting events facility and venue for music concerts and other events.
