From Zero To Hero: Absolute Outdoors

Mother Nature is reclaiming the earth.

If there’s one thing about COVID-19, it’s that the earth is healing and with that healing comes intrigue. Places we’ve never been, things we’ve never seen and adventures that are awaiting – as soon as we can get outside again. One of these amazing places is The Grampians in Victoria, Australia. And if you’re going to truly experience The Grampians, Absolute Outdoors is the way to do it.

Absolute Outdoors came to light way back in 1989. A small group of friends were hanging out in their local playground, The Grampians, organising their own gatherings and adventure trips. Of course, from there, it seemed silly to keep it all to themselves. And they decided to open their ideas up to other people.

As the groups got bigger, so did the need for organisation and eventually, the group of friends decided to start a business so they could open up their tours and the region to the world. Prior to COVID-19, the company had people from across the globe signing up to be part of their adventure tours. They provide some amazing adventures, including guided walks, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, rock climbing, abseiling and mountain biking. All of these experiences allow you to see The Grampians in all its beauty.

A captivating playground

Kangaroos jumping, kookaburras laughing, emus running, lizards lazing. This is Australia and The Grampians in Victoria provide 165,000 hectares of captivating beauty. Its filled with environmental, historical and cultural significance; has around 800 native plants, more than 40 mammal species and an abundance of bird types. And that’s just the start of it. The history of the region dates back thousands of years, evident in the plethora of Aboriginal Art you will see as you explore. With impressive waterfalls, abundant wildlife and breathtaking views, there’s little wonder why the Grampians are such a popular destination when it comes to adventure.

Absolute Outdoors run their tours in full appreciation for the Traditional Owners of the land and Parks Victoria. They have years of local exploration, and their knowledge and passion for the region helps to create tours that are tailored to true conservation lovers and nature appreciators.

Social distancing and coronavirus have caused National Parks to close down, and as such, companies like Absolute Outdoors, which base their livelihood on helping others make the most of their life, are suffering. The good news though is that once it’s all over, the world is going to flourish like never before. People are guaranteed to travel and appreciate life more than ever. They’re going to start living again!

Hair raising adventure awaits

When it comes to rock climbing, The Grampians National Park draws visitors from around the world to test their rock climbing and abseiling skills. Absolute Outdoors have you climbing up to 25 metres (or more if requested) and abseiling 30 metres; and the Ultimate Abseil which is an epic 60 metres! Relax, unwind and take in the breathtaking landscape of Lake Bellfield by kayak or SUP; or sit yourself down and peddle away as you explore the flora and fauna from the seat of a bike, manoeuvring along the variable trails through the National Park. Or you can go From Zero To Hero with an all-in-one adventure! You’ll take plenty of memories home with you from these experiences, leaving only footprints.

EDUCATE | INSPIRE | CONNECT | ADVENTURE

Absolute Outdoors not only provides tours to adventure-seekers! They want to make sure if you’re hitting The Grampians, you’re doing it right. They want to ensure you’re safe - they provide hiker support services, including transport for one-way hikes, water and equipment drops to campsites. They want to make sure you’re prepared – and they provide equipment rental and sales for everything you need for a great adventure, including tents, sleeping bags, PLBs and satellite phones. And they want to make sure you’re together – with group programs designed for schools and businesses, inclusive of accommodation and meals.

The goal of Absolute Outdoors is simple. To educate, inspire, connect people and places, and provide adventure. And when it comes to achieving this, these guys are well on the ball. When the world opens up again, nature is going to be beaming. If there’s one place everyone should add to their bucket list, it’s The Grampians in Victoria, Australia. And Absolute Outdoors are the company to show it – they know the region like the back of their dirt-covered hands.
