Disney World and Disneyland are both super fun places to visit and go for vacation.

They are both super magical and have a lot of similarities, but it’s really fun to do their unique things.

In this post I’m going to tell you about the best things you can do in Disney World that you can’t do in Disneyland!

1. Disney Transportation

Disney provides complimentary transportation between their hotels and theme parks. These free transportation services start 45 minutes before the theme parks open and they close 1 hour after the parks close.

The different modes of transportation they offer are the monorail, the Skyliner, water transportation, and buses.

2. Visit 4 Theme Parks

Walt Disney World is absolutely massive! It has four separate theme parks that guests can visit, while Disneyland has 2 theme parks.

Disney World’s four theme parks are Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. Each one gives guests a unique and fun Disney World experience.

Magic Kingdom is similar to Disneyland park and Hollywood Studios is similar to California Adventure park, but they still have a lot of differences.

Disneyland has nothing like Animal Kingdom and EPCOT though!

3. Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land is located in Hollywood Studios. It has 3 rides which are Alien Swirling Saucers, Slinky Dog Dash, and Toy Story Mania!

Disneyland has Toy Story Mania, but not the other 2 rides. Toy Story Land also has 2 restaurants, shopping, and lots of opportunities to meet your favorite characters from the movies.

4. Water Parks

Did you know Disney World has 2 water parks? Im here to tell you that they are a ton of fun and they’re a great way to cool off in the Florida heat.

The water parks are called Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. You can go down water slides, relax in the lazy river, and eat Dole Whips. What’s not to love?

This is a great activity for a Disney rest day when you aren’t in the theme parks, but still want to do something cool.

5. Simba Waffles

If you’re a big Lion King or Simba fan, then add this to your bucket list! There’s a restaurant in Animal Kingdom called Tusker House Restaurant that serves Simba waffles.

You can also get them from Boma in Animal Kingdom Lodge.

They’re also too cute to eat, but Disney waffles are delicious so you’ll definitely want to indulge. This restaurant has character dining and is on the expensive side.

6. Disney Springs

Disney Springs is somewhat similar to Downtown Disney, but it’s different enough that it’s making the list of things you can do in Disney World, but not Disneyland.

It has restaurants, shopping, shows, and events. It’s on the water, making it a really pretty area.

7. Scuba Diving

I know it sounds a little out there, but you really can go scuba diving in Disney World at EPCOT. It’s the EPCOT Seas Adventure DiveQuest.

It’s at The Seas With Nemo & Friends Pavilion. You must be scuba certified to do this. It’s a 2 hour experience with 40 minutes of actual diving.

You’ll swim with over 2,000 sea creatures, including sharks, sting rays, fish, turtles, and more.

People you’re traveling with who aren’t diving can watch you dive from the other side of the aquarium.

8. Dolphin Encounter

EPCOT Seas Adventures – Dolphins In Depth is a 2 hour dolphin encounter in The Seas With Nemo & Friends Pavilion. You’ll need a reservation ahead of time.

You’ll learn about the dolphins here and even get to spend 30 minutes being waist-deep in the water interacting with the dolphins. This is a total splurge that sounds amazing!

9. Club Cool

Club Cool is in EPCOT in World Celebration. You can taste different Coke products from around the world.

Beverly is known for being the most disgusting. Try it if you dare! We can’t stand it! This is a free activity.

10. Private Fireworks Cruise

Embark on the water for amazing views of Disney World firework shows like Luminous The Symphony of Us or Happily Ever After.

Snacks and soft drinks are provided on your cruise and you can request to have balloons and festive banners.

11. Go On Unique Rides

Disneyland and Disney World both have amazing rides. They have some of the same attractions, but there are quite a few that are unique to Disney World.

Some of them are Tower of Terror, PeopleMover, Tron, Avatar Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Cosmic Rewind, and Frozen Ever After.
