Top 5 Relatable Moments That Every Broke Girl Knows
And the thoughts that are in the back of your head during these moments

Honestly, I am the worst possible candidate when it comes to taking care of money. I can't hide from it: I'm bad with money.

I never seem to understand how it works. I can't wrap my head around why something I want isn't something I need and I have ZERO financial education. (So basically, I'm straight out of the public school system.)
For me money equals three things: material possessions, stress and anger.
It's just bad but sometimes it can be worse. Sometimes I'm going through websites looking for coupons and the best deals- for hours. Only to get our groceries down by about 20$. And then, out of the blue, I'll buy a three dollar cookie with a 10$ coffee at Starbucks.
WHY AM I LIKE THIS
Anyways, if you have gone through the public school system and are known to be a tiny bit bad with money. You'll relate to my top 5 most notable broke girl moments.
Let's begin the count down !
# 5 Finding a top cute at the store and being pleasantly surprised by the price tag
- That moment where your tone and mood switches before you even notice it: ''Oh but look at that obviously I can't aff- oh my god what? I love sales ! ''
Bonus: Walking into a store and asking where the discount rack is before even looking at what they were selling. (Often followed by the ''Do I need this?'' speech. Which usually ends with: No but I should treat myself !)

# 4 Being over excited about going to good will
- Wealthy girls get that excited about the mall . . . But ya'll, there ain't nothing better than getting a 30$ shirt for 2$.
Bonus: Getting the adrenaline rush of thrift shopping. The ''high'' of the hunt. ADORE IT.

# 3 Knowing exactly what you'll do with the dollar you found in your pants: Laundry.
- Featuring the ever so obvious pack of gum you buy to break a fiver for laundry the week after.
Can't tell you how many times I've been tipped in coins and don't even have time to be happy about it because coins are for laundry in my home.

# 2 Not understanding the concept of a saving account.
- Wait? ! Some people have EXTRA ? Like seriously, how do you not spend what you have? If someone gives me cash money it BURNS a hole in my pocket.
Bonus: Being too afraid to look at your bank accounts.

# 1 Counting pennies at every corner only to over spend by ordering fast food.
- Always, without doubt- followed by guilt. I'm in a long-term but toxic relationship with the McDonalds' Big Mac.

Bonus: The joys of being given free food. You know you're broke when someone gives you free food and you are so moved that you can't even thank them.

I know that my spending habits and relationship with money isn't the best. However, I want to let you all know that I am insanely better than I was just three years ago. I've cried, I've suffered but today I am more or less stable.
I've had a lot of people throughout the years try and help me. My parents tried to teach me but my mom is worse than I am. My dad tried and failed, although he is more of a ''learn by fire'' kind of guy. My boyfriend specialized in personal finances and when I ask him to help me make a budget I can physically see his body tense up with fear.
Because when we talk about money, one of three things will happen: I will either give up, swear a lot or cry. He does try though.
Most days I feel like a toddler with a wallet. I don't understand the basics of finance or money and I never have enough. I cry a lot about that lack of money and I don't understand why my time is worth money to others.
But hey! Capitalism.
Hopefully one day, we'll all be functional adults.
But, until then: P E A C E O U T !
