The Cost of Being Stubborn

Persisting in Foolishness Harms Everyone Around You

We all have times in our lives when we are stubborn. This is very normal. I used to be a very stubborn person, but gradually, I decided to rethink my attitudes and see if they really fit the issue or situation and if they were valid for me as a person.

I believe that, to live in society, we have an obligation from time to time to rethink our concepts, our speech, our ideas about certain topics... In short, to rethink our life in general. And that is very good! It's like being born again. There are many discoveries.

Of course, we won’t always find good things. In fact, if you are honest with yourself, you might find more mistakes than successes. This is perfectly natural. What we cannot do is continue insisting on something that we already know is not appropriate.

Persisting in the error of remaining in ignorance, refusing to move beyond foolishness, is one of the greatest harms one can inflict upon oneself. In a world where access to knowledge is vast and diverse, stubbornness in not seeking learning is a form of self-sabotage.

We have books, online courses, documentaries, and many other sources of information at our disposal that can make us reflect on life, our values, and our choices.

Pay attention to whether you are being foolish by choice and stubbornness, or if you are being manipulated. The system in any country only wants to keep the population asleep, and to do this, they insist on and propagate the idea that being foolish is acceptable and normal. It is not!

And I'm not just talking about being foolish in an academic or intellectual sense. I'm referring much more to insisting on being socially foolish. This is very dangerous—not just for you, who stubbornly refuses to open your eyes and mind, but for everyone. Sometimes even the heart needs to be opened!

You have to break this system. It is very difficult, sometimes painful, but if you commit to truly understanding and creating change, the time will come! One day you will wake up and see a new world before your eyes.

Don’t let fear, laziness, and stubbornness push you to be just another face in the crowd. No! You can and should stand out.

Persisting in ignorance is choosing to live in darkness when the light is within everyone's reach. There is space for everyone, even if some insist on lying to you, saying that the space is for only a few. This is part of the deception created by the system to prevent you from questioning anything.

Life offers countless opportunities for growth and transformation, but you must want to see them. Those who refuse to evolve, to question their own convictions, remain trapped in a bubble of misinformation and prejudice, becoming incapable of seeing the world with clarity and depth.

Just like the opening photo, when you break the imposed pattern of being manipulated into believing all the lies created by the system, your new vision of life will help you break through the concrete and bloom.

It may seem impossible, but it is not! You can break through the cold, hard concrete and grow your leaves towards the light. And that is something a small group that controls countries—any country—does not want to happen.

Reflecting on life is essential for personal development. It’s not just about acquiring technical or academic knowledge but understanding your own role in the world, recognizing the importance of empathy, ethics, and social responsibility. By not moving beyond foolishness, a person misses the chance to truly connect with others, contribute positively to society, and find a higher purpose in their existence.

For example, persisting in foolishness by not expanding your thoughts and breaking out of the bubble can lead to various problems. I can cite the following: poorly prepared and ill-intentioned professionals who affect those around them by being incompetent in their chosen profession.

Imagine a doctor, an engineer, or even a police officer who is emotionally foolish, lacks the technical and practical knowledge of their profession, and imposes this incompetence on others. And think about when an ignorant person votes to choose a representative and is unable to set aside issues like religion, skin color, personal preferences, place of birth, etc.

I have heard horrific stories from people I thought were emotionally competent, but who turned out to be complete idiots when it came to choosing a representative because their "personal preference" was more important than the reality of the facts about a candidate. In the end, I had to endure four years of hell, all because other fools joined together to vote for someone who only presented lies.

We live in an era where information about any and every topic is literally at our fingertips. It’s up to us to break our stubbornness, overcome our ego, and have a conversation with ourselves. Change is only a matter of our own will. Being a fool in today’s world can no longer be an option of stubbornness, laziness, or conformity.

Therefore, it is crucial to open your mind, seek continuous learning, and, most importantly, accept that making mistakes is part of the process. However, remaining in error is a choice that can prevent us from reaching our true potential.

This was my thought for today, at this moment. I hope it has helped in some way. Thank you for reading my text, and if you liked it, please leave a comment below and subscribe for more texts.
