Feminist activists are not deterred by the daunting statistics so much as they're fueled by them.
Planned Parenthood Saved My Mom's Life
My mom always had horrible periods. They were always debilitating, horrendous events and she would sometimes have to go home early from work. When it was her time of the month, she always slumped down on the couch after we got home from school and work, pressing a hand against her lower stomach and grimacing every time a spasm ripped through her uterus. She was always glad when she was done with her period for the month but knew the next one was inevitable.

Building T.A.Y.S.
When I think of a builder, I think of someone who possesses a great deal of patience. If you're building a house or any structure, a foundation must be laid. A house or a building can't be built overnight. It takes time, and so does building people takes time and patience. I am a people builder. I am a woman builder. This is my passion. It fulfills me!

Boldly bald
For as long as I can remember the second thoughts in my head became too overwhelming to handle, I'd dig out a piece of my hair and hold onto it for dear life. I would take a strand like it was a flotation device thrown out to me at sea and aggressively start twirling. This type of self soothing was something that happened subconsciously and I never seemed to take notice until a classmate of mine pointed it out to me. We were in seventh grade and she asked me ‘why I twirled my hair like that’. I distinctly remember telling her I do it when I'm thinking. From that point on when she saw me twirling she'd ask me what I was thinking about more as a rhetorical question to point out that I was ridiculously twirling my hair again.

Are Men and Women Really Equal in the Workplace
The mainstream media leads us to believe that after years of oppression women are now equal to men in the workplace, that the gender pay gap is a thing of the past and sexual harassment abolished with the help of the MeToo movement. Yet we still hear the cries from actresses in Hollywood about lesser pay compared to their male co-stars, and we are simply fed excuse after excuse about why this is the case. What we don’t hear is about our day to day hard working women and yet, according to CIPD the gender pay gap in the UK is at 17.3% with sexual harassment in the workplace still at an all-time high.

The Power Gap
At some point in your life, you may have come across an ominous-sounding proverb that goes something along the lines of divide and conquer or divide and rule. You may be wondering what it means, how it works, or if it is even still adhered to today… Surely we’re much smarter than to allow a singular person/institution/belief system to divide us right? Looking around at the state of our planet, the war, the famine, the infighting amongst groups who would normally stand united, and the inequity marginalised people are still facing… it is unfortunate to say, but we still seem to be very much susceptible to a motto that is thousands of years old.

Why I won't stand with the 'All Men' theory.
The #me too movement is a movement rightly dedicated to women speaking up about abuse and rape they have suffered. I am one of those who spoke up about my own suffering of rape and abuse. I am also one of those women who hates going out at night, is constantly looking over my shoulder, and is afraid of suffering the more than violent torment of my past. I am also a woman who deeply struggled because the authorities blam everything on my mental health when I spoke my truth, lost my children because of the torture of the mental health problems I suffered for years because of what I had been through and misdiagnose, and because of that I am still suffering some symptoms of PTSD.

Story Telling
For those of you who don’t know, Noel Clark was a respected actor, writer and producer in the UK film and television industry. However, some excellent, respectful and careful journalism has unearthed accusations by 20 women that show him to be a sleazy killer of dreams. The story was published in the Guardian on Thursday 29 April and already the narrative is turning towards whether his career will ever recover. His career. His career.
