I Thought I Was Gonna DIE !
First thing first, I am NOT claiming, by any means, to be a domestic violence victim, survivor, professional, etc. I feel like I'm constantly in a whirlpool. Either spinning out of control on the outer edge or drowning when getting sucked down to the center. This is simply a part of my life story that is weighing me down so I wanted to dispel it with purpose. I would rather get this off my chest in a constructive way to avoid me doing something I regret.

Up -Side/Down
It’s crazy to look over at the man you once loved, and know that he’s about to kill you. To think of how many times you’ve laid there at night, sleeping, while he watches over you and plots your demise. I wish this was the first, and pray to the Gods that it’s the last time I’m ever within an inch my life, from this crazy repeat cycle of endless battery and relentless savagery. They say that it must be what I want, that I choose these monsters, or that I bring it out in them. Maybe it’s my own demons haunting me, possessing every poor soul that ever gets comfortable enough to stay. Maybe.

What I Was Most Afraid Of This Year
It wasn't the virus or the police. I have been afraid to take my stand. During the upheaval that has saturated most of this year, I have often noticed my fears of judgement, fears of saying, writing, or doing the wrong thing. How do I voice my piece? What do I need to say? Is what I write valuable? Who do I quote? What if I say it wrong? I don’t know what to say… What if I’m misunderstood?

Gender Biased Studies
Charles Fain Lehman wrote an opinion piece on February 22, 2018, for freebeacon.com about a study that claims it helps explain persistent male and female gaps in hard sciences. The original study can be found at journals.sagepub.com, and I left a link to the article and the original study below. The study focused on the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, referred to as STEM. The abstract explains that the underrepresentation of girls and women in STEM fields is a constant concern of policymakers. They used an international database on adolescent achievement to evaluate the differences in the sexes across many countries. The study showed that more girls appear capable of college-level STEM study programs than those enrolled at the college level. This was determined by evaluating adolescent academic performance in Science Math and Reading, compared to the percentage of young women who enroll in the STEM field of college study.
