Suicidal PMS-ing
Alright! Let’s talk about periods. For every person who just cringed — well, check your misogyny and take a seat because the following discussion is one hundred percent about the very serious life threatening negligence that is women’s reproductive health information and research, and it affects every single one of us homo sapiens. It’s long been time to stop running away from discussions about menstruation and acting like the science we have supporting women’s reproductive health and treatment is sufficient. It’s not, if it were, you’d automatically know what PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder) was and the accompanying symptom of what I call “suicidal PMS” (yes, it does sound like the name of a banging 90s punk rock band).

Begin Again
My passion is helping others who need help. Not just any and everybody. I help survivors and victims of human trafficking, sex slavery and, prostitution by showing them how to help themselves. I help them with family reunification, obtaining transitional housing, drug/alcohol rehabilitation programs, life skills/employment training, parenting classes, physical/mental health assistance, counseling, therapy, and tattoo (branding) removal. We do much more, together.

Painful Memories of Love
When I was little, about 6 years old, I was sitting in the back of my parent’s car, not on the seat with my seat belt on, but curled up on the floor. My dad was always very strict with safety. If we didn’t sit nicely in the car, he would stop the car, force our seat belts on and talk sense to my brother and me for as long as necessary before getting back in the driver’s seat.

Stranger's Heart
I sit in the dim parlor, waiting. The stiff horsehair cushions beneath me are a gaudy orange that nearly matches the peach of the drapes – both glaringly bright and sickeningly pale at once. The roses on the sampler in my hands weep in despair as I prick my finger yet again in my boredom. Across the room, the bright sunshine of the forbidden outdoors gleams tauntingly around the drapes. My eyes remain fixed on the dust motes sparkling in a sharp lance of light that pierces the gloom to land on the floor near my feet. Far in the distance, I can hear the sounds of people – voices shouting, the crunch of footsteps on the rough gravel paths, Cook yelling at someone out back in the garden. If only I could join them instead of being imprisoned in here.

Mean Girls Missed the Mark
I want to start this off by saying that I LOVE "Mean Girls". It is possibly one of the funniest, and most quotable movies in existence. I watch it every time I see it on TV. I mean how many times can you set through the entire thing before it stops being entertaining and hilarious?

When the Predator is in Your Own Family
When most people think of stalkers who shadow women intent on sexual assault, what they think of is a stranger in black following the innocent woman to her car in some late-night parking lot, chloroform and duct tape in hand. They think of names like Ted Bundy, the Hillside Strangler, the Zodiac killer, and others.

Anthology of Ancient Heroines
Who was she? If you’ve even heard of the name Kubaba, you might be familiar with the goddess Kubaba, but did you know she was probably a real person before she was deified? Not only that, she may be the first recorded woman ruler. Queen Puabi and another unknown Sumerian Queen who was discovered on a very intricate alabaster plaque may predate Kubaba. Then again, maybe the queen on the plaque is Kubaba. Unlike some other theorists, I do not believe Kubaba married into her position. The Sumerian King List refers to her as lugal (king) and not eresh (queen consort). She is the only woman in the Sumerian King List. There is not a lot of information about Kubaba readily available, but here are some other factoids I was able to gather:
