Pros and Cons: Lacey Evans' Heel Turn
The latest edition of SmackDown was the first to take place following WWE's Money In The Bank event, which saw (among other things) Liv Morgan win the briefcase, and then use it on the same night to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion. We were treated to an appearance by Liv, followed by a grudge match between Ronda Rousey and Natalya, but that was not the only bit of women's action, as we were originally set to have a tag team contest pitting Lacey Evans and Aliyah against Shotzi Blackheart and Shayna Baszler.

Why Liv Morgan Deserves to be This Year's Ms. Money In The Bank
The name Liv Morgan has gained a lot of steam in the last year, and that steam alone is long overdue. I have been among many saying that it's time Liv received something resembling an elevation, and from what we've seen since around the summer of 2021, it looks like we could finally see Liv get the push that she deserves and she's worked hard to receive. Hopefully, it leads to a big moment on July 2, 2022. Why that date? Because on that day, WWE's 13th annual Money In The Bank event takes place.

AEW Women's World Championship Match Set for Double or Nothing
It is hard to believe that All Elite Wrestling's first ever major event, Double or Nothing, took place almost three years ago. The company's launch in 2019 saw four pay-per-views take place before their flagship show, AEW Dynamite, premiered on October 2, 2019. Since then, AEW has become an absolute phenomenon, and fans find themselves getting ready for AEW's fourth annual Double or Nothing event. Part of the event's festivities include an absolute clash for the AEW Women's World Championship between fighting champion Thunder Rosa and ambitious challenger Serena Deeb.

A Villainous Alliance Brewing Between Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H.?
I cannot help but be stuck on that brief moment that occurred backstage on the latest edition of Raw. A wild and crazy episode saw, among other things, Nikki A.S.H. capture the 24/7 Championship from Dana Brooke backstage, making Nikki the first to have held the Raw Women's Championship, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, and the 24/7 title. An angry Dana Brooke ordered her new husband, Reggie, to get her a rematch, which he does, and Dana regains her title once again, after which Dana demanded a divorce after Reggie (yet again) tried to win the title from her.

Dakota Kai and Persia Pirotta Among WWE's 1st Batch of Releases in 2022
Wrestling fans were hit with another batch of heartbreaking and infuriating releases this weekend, with 10 talents being cut from WWE, and all from the NXT brand. The two that really have me up in arms: Dakota Kai and Persia Pirotta. Oh boy.

Reviewing the SmackDown Women's Division's 1st Show After WrestleMania
Last up during WWE's Post-WM week was SmackDown, and it would kick off with Ronda Rousey demanding a rematch against Charlotte Flair. Their contest at WrestleMania Saturday ended with controversy, the referee being taken down and being unable to witness Ronda making Charlotte tap out, and it was followed by Charlotte defeating Ronda. On SmackDown, Ronda loudly demanded a rematch, but of course, Charlotte refused--telling Ronda to go to the back of the line. Ronda's confrontation with Adam Pearce was met with an answer she didn't like: "wait until tomorrow."

Reviewing the NXT Women's Division's 1st Show After WrestleMania
The women of NXT shined at Stand & Deliver on April 2, and after Raw had their Post-Mania show, it was NXT's turn. Two women's matches were set for Post-Mania NXT, first off, the tag title rematch from Stand & Deliver, with Toxic Attraction's Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne challenging new champions Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai. The pair, as well as NXT Women's Champion Mandy Rose, vowed to regain their titles, claiming that Wendy Choo's appearance was the only reason why they were dethroned. All the while, Dakota and Raquel referred to the defeated duo as being afraid of the new champions, and vowed to retain.

Rhea Ripley's Headed on a Dark Path, but Will She Do So Alone?
OK, so I decided to wait until after this year's Post-Mania Raw to post this, mainly because I wanted to see if what I figured would happen would kick off. It certainly did. So Sunday's second night of WrestleMania saw Edge defeated AJ Styles and gain an ally in his dark quest...in the form of Damian Priest. This alliance is actually a few months in the making; back in January, Edge was shown in a backstage segment with Priest--this was back when he was in his feud with The Miz, which happened to involve their wives. So what we saw on Sunday was a rare bit of continuity, as well as fate--Edge and Priest's heel turns took place on the same episode of Raw.

Reviewing an Amazing WrestleMania Weekend for WWE's Women's Division
WrestleMania weekend took place in the cities of Dallas and Arlington this year, and it was an immensely amazing showcase for World Wrestling Entertainment's women's division. Counting NXT, five championships were defended in WWE's women's division, and the action kicked off with NXT's Stand and Deliver event, which actually took place early that Saturday afternoon (Saturday morning for those of us in the western half of the country).

Reviewing Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez's Reunion
Eight months prior, I wrote a story about the end of the alliance between Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez; an alliance that began back in February of 2020. The pair joined forces due to a shared belief that they had been ignored in the NXT Women's Division, and as a unit, Dakota and Raquel entered and won the first ever Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, with their reward being the honor of serving as NXT's first ever Women's Tag Team Champions. Though they quickly lost the titles on that same night, the pair remained together even during Raquel's successful quest to become NXT Women's Champion.

Women's Dusty Classic Winners Crowned, But Their Focus Changes
Shortly after Diamond Mine won the Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, the second-ever Women's version took place, with eight teams vying for a shot at the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship, held by Toxic Attraction's Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. The latest edition of NXT featured the finals of the tournament, which pitted Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray against the makeshift team of Dakota Kai and Wendy Choo. The match served as the main event, and it would end with the dream team of Io and KLR emerging victorious and winning the Dusty Cup.

Thunder Rosa Captures the AEW Women's World Championship
On March 16, 2022, All Elite Wrestling aired their second annual St. Patrick's Day Slam episode of Dynamite, and it was main evented by a steel cage match for the AEW Women's World Championship between entering titleholder Britt Baker, and challenger Thunder Rosa. This is the second title meeting between the two rivals in a week and a half; they faced off at Revolution on March 6, but the usual interference from Britt's cohorts, Rebel and Jamie Hayter, helped Britt retain. Thunder Rosa won her way to another title opportunity three days later on Dynamite by defeating Leyla Hirsch in a Championship Eliminator match, and the steel cage environment was made to keep anyone (including and especially Britt's cronies) out.
