It was an honor to share the journey and insights of former Chicago Cub and Miami Marlin Adam Greenberg in the book we co-wrote called Get Up: The Art of Perseverance. His journey of resilience and perseverance began in Guilford, Connecticut, with a dream of one day becoming a Major League Baseball player. His relentless drive, work ethic, and passion to succeed took him to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned tremendous accolades in Coach Fox’s baseball program. Soon he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs organization, and made his way through the minors until he got the call.

Ardsley High School Athletes to Remember
Ardsley Three Sport Athlete Strong Arms His Way as Quarterback Dan Stein's first choice for a fall sport upon entering high school as a freshman would have been hockey. Minus that choice at Ardsley, the baseball and basketball player opted out of simply sitting around until the weather turned cold. "I thought I'd give football a try," he said. So as a baseball catcher, his strong arm put this eventual three sport athlete at the center of the gridiron for four full years.

What baseball player doesn’t like the idea of hitting a ball so hard it goes far beyond the reach of the outfielders? The hit that becomes an instant home run and the hit that everyone will be talking about for weeks to come is what every baseball player dreams of. It’s the kind of hit that legends are made out of, and that type of hit is only possible by improving hitting power. Sure, accuracy, focus, and batting form all play integral roles in creating a hit like that, but without hitting power, none of those other factors will lead to an instant home run. Even a poor batter can hit the ball out of the park occasionally if they have some serious hitting power.

Manny who? Manny freakin' Machado, that's who!
