Wild Acquire Martin Hanzal from ‘Yotes
Apparently NHL teams thought the trade deadline was tonight! Not long after the Ben Bishop trade was announced, it was reported that center Martin Hanzal and center Ryan White were being moved from Arizona to Minnesota for a 2017 1st-round pick, a 2018 2nd-round pick, a conditional pick in 2019, and Grayson Downing. And my initial thoughts: good lord.

The Day that Earth Shook: What KD’s Injury Means for the League
On Tuesday evening there was a seismic event of tremendous magnitude, and of course it occurred in the Golden State. We aren’t talking earthquake here, but unless you managed to wind up under a rock in some other fashion, you know that Golden State Warrior Kevin Durant was injured Tuesday night. Not only was Golden State’s and the NBA’s most prized free agent acquisition injured and forced to leave Tuesday night’s game, the news came down on Wednesday that Durant would be out indefinitely and re-evaluated in four weeks. This is a fascinating development indeed, as it certainly makes things a bit more tricky for a Golden State squad that had plans on meeting the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals for a third straight year. The question remains though, what exactly does this injury mean for all parties involved?

The Chicago Cubs Are the World Series Favorites
Make no mistake: the Dodgers are a great team. They have Clayton Kershaw, the pitching equivalent of Mike Trout. They have Corey Seager and Justin Turner, two of the best infielders in the National League. They have Kenley Jansen, a lights out closer who has been nothing short of dominant throughout his career. And yes — as my colleague Dylan Svoboda pointed out — they’re predicted to be better (though by a fairly slim margin) than the reigning WS Champs, the Chicago Cubs.

The Warriors Have Official Killed The NBA
We've all sat around for the past six or seven weeks convincing ourselves that the rubber match between the Cavs and the Warriors would save what can only be described as an unwatchable NBA Playoffs. A clash of the titans, the deciding game between the two super teams, the most built up NBA Finals in years. Through two games, it’s apparent the Warriors are making sure they’re not only sticking the final knife in the bleeding out playoffs, but they’re making sure basketball won’t be fun for quite some time.

First and foremost, WOW! The way the Super Bowl played out was definitely one for the ages. A New NBA
In February rumors were abound regarding the possibility of NBA expansion. Commissioner Adam Silver has typically been quite conservative regarding potential expansion but he’s also a rail-thin white dude who gives perfect dap so let’s not suppose he’s anything less than pleasantly surprising. Several cities were mentioned as potential landing spots. Seattle, Lousville, Kansas City, Virginia Beach, Anaheim, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Mexico City and San Jose have all generated conversation to varying levels of authenticity as NBA host cities. Neither Lebron nor KD Paved the Way for Superteams, but They Perfected It
Boys and girls, the word of the day here is “superteam”. The NBA Finals and the playoffs as a whole have revolved around this word. Whether it’s being thrown around in sentences like “Kevin Durant joining a 73-win team is the most stacked superteam of all time,” or “LeBron’s just mad someone made a better superteam than him for once,” or even “why did we even try to win 50 games we can’t beat this superteam, we could’ve been golfing a month ago,” you’ve heard it time and time again. By now you know it’s the combination of a minimum of three superstars joining together like one giant Morphing Power Ranger to just blow past everyone that gets in their way.

Baylor Needs and Deserves the Death Penalty
I know what you’re thinking: “There’s no way the NCAA can do this. That’s too harsh of a punishment.” This situation is not the same as Penn State or SMU. One involved a coach performing disgustingly inhumane acts on children, and the other involved coaches paying recruits/players. In Waco, the issue starts directly with the players. If any of these players are guilty of committing crimes against women, they should be kicked out of the football program — no questions asked. However, it doesn’t work that way at Baylor.

When Kevin Durant’s departure from Oklahoma City created the first human-atom bomb in Russell Westbrook, it also set the table for the rubber match in the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors.
