How to Knock Someone out with the Sleeper Hold
Anyone that's studied a martial art that includes a form of grappling has learned about pressure points, and the weaknesses that every human body shares. When it comes to quick knock outs, though, there are only three things that you can do; great harm to the head, interrupt the flow of oxygen to the brain, or cut off the supply of blood to that same, very-necessary organ. All of these are risky moves, but when they work, they are fight enders. The infamous Sleeper Hold uses the third strategy, and once you know that, it's a fairly simple thing to execute.

5 Tips to Run Faster and Avoid Shin Splints. Top Story - October 2019.
As someone with firsthand experience, I can confirm that shin splints are a huge pain both physically and figuratively. When I began running track in high school, shin splints were the number one biggest complaint from my peers and the most common reason for my teammates to sit out of practices and meets. I assumed that shin splints were an inevitable reality of being an athlete, so I never thought about ways to avoid them. When I first got shin splints in my sophomore year of high school, I realized just how disruptive they are and how much of a damper they can put not just on an athlete’s career, but in all aspects of life. So I set out to do some research and see what I could do to prevent ever having to deal with shin splints again, and I’m going to share what I know with you today.

I’m a High School Basketball Coach. Here’s How We Cut Player Injuries Down in One Season
I’ve been a high school basketball coach for three years now, and I’ve learned a thing or two about working with the team. While it’s been a number of years since our last big championship, the team has been in the upper ranks in our region and has been steadily rising. Our core principles of teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect have brought us far, and there’s a good camaraderie among the boys. I had been feeling great about my role as head coach and confident in my ability to lead the team deep into the playoffs and, potentially, a championship trophy.

On a Thursday night in early June 2018, the Vegas Golden Knights were defeated in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals by the Washington Capitals after Lars Eller of the Capitals scored the game-winning goal with 7:37 minutes left to play. O Captain, My Captain
On a Tuesday night, late in April 2019, the San Jose Sharks and the Vegas Golden Knights played one of the most memorable Game 7s in sporting history. A chippy and aggressive series, the first round of playoffs for the 2019 season already had plenty of talking points. There were two players who lost teeth during the best-of-seven series and numerous players were taken back to the locker rooms during the games for various injuries. The hits were strong and plentiful; the embodiment of hockey. There was a goal scored that was quickly waived off due to goalie interference, changing the game's momentum. But it's all part of the game. Athletes put their bodies on the line every day, for an ultimate goal. Usually, these goals are personal, maybe the athletes want to create a good and stable life for their family, or they want to prove someone wrong, or win the biggest game, or create ever-lasting fame. But sometimes, playing for a teammate can be the most powerful and motivating goal.

The Role of Technology in the Future of the Sports Sector
Do you ever just look at the simplest appliance, maybe even a toaster, and begin to wonder how the first people to invent it even came up with the idea? It’s overwhelming how far we’ve come since then. It’s still shocking to think about how vital a part technology plays in our lives.

Grappling Sensation Mckenzie Dern Suffers First MMA Defeat
Mixed Martial Arts can be an unforgiving sport at times, and while the days of it being "No Holds Barred" are gone, it's just as difficult. The competition seems to be that much stiffer, as big bucks can be made by many a combat athlete. Grappling is definitely a main stay in the sport, and separates it from the striking sports, but can definitely be negated these days. No longer can a grappling superstar dominate, like a Royce Gracie or a Mark Coleman. The 26-year-old McKenzie Dern has a ridiculously good record in JiuJitsu, boasting 22 gold medals in world championship tournaments. The transition to MMA was only natural, where she holds a record of seven wins and, as of yesterday, one defeat. So, how has such a legendary grappler suffered a defeat so early into her career. I think that's due to the direction the sport has headed since Dana White took over the UFC.

The INEOS 1:59 Challenge: Are Humans on the Verge of Outrunning Cars?
The ancient debate on whether or not man will ever be able to outrun cars has been rekindled after Eliud Kipchoge’s INEOS 1:59 history-making victory. The celebrated, record-breaking marathoner is now the first man to finish a 42 kilometers (26.2 miles) marathon race in less than two hours. That translates to an average speed of approximately 21 kilometers per hour (13.1 mph or 5.833 meters per second). So, are humans on the verge of outrunning cars?
