By John Maddox
2024 Season Recap
• Final Record: 10–7
• Division Standing: 1st in NFC West

Overview:
The Rams rebounded from a rocky start to win nine of their final twelve games, finishing 10–7 and taking the NFC West title. Sean McVay guided a resilient squad that adapted well after the retirement of Aaron Donald. Rookie Jared Verse stepped in and won Defensive Rookie of the Year, while Matthew Stafford stayed healthy and efficient. They handled the Vikings in the Wild Card round before falling in a tight Divisional matchup against the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles.

Notable Scheme or Identity Shift
The Rams are rebuilding their roster without sacrificing competitiveness. The signing of Davante Adams adds a new top-tier weapon for Stafford and elevates an already productive passing attack led by Puka Nacua. With Jared Verse and Braden Fiske ascending, the defense is quickly taking shape as a young, disruptive unit. The offensive line is still a work in progress, but the focus is clearly on sustainable balance: tough, efficient football on both sides of the ball.

Draft Hits (2022–2024)
• Jared Verse, OLB – Round 1, 2024
Instant-impact edge rusher. Won Defensive Rookie of the Year and set the tone early.
• Braden Fiske, DT – Round 2, 2024
Strong, versatile interior defender who held his own in year one.
• Puka Nacua, WR – Round 5, 2023
Breakout season in 2024, quickly becoming a go-to target.
• Kyren Williams, RB – Round 5, 2022
Durable, explosive, and effective in both the pass and run game.
Current Roster Needs
High Priority:
• Offensive Tackle – With aging talent up front, the Rams need a young bookend.
• Tight End – Higbee is gone, and they need a true pass-catching threat at the position.
• Cornerback – The secondary needs another reliable starting option opposite Witherspoon.
Depth Needed:
• Inside Linebacker – Still light on consistent depth.
• Quarterback – Time to think about life after Stafford.
• Wide Receiver – They’ve replaced Kupp, but they could use more speed and size.
2025 Draft Predictions (Rounds 1–3)
Round 1, Pick 26
• James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee – High-motor pass rusher to rotate with Verse and eventually form a top-tier duo.
• Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina – Big, athletic safety who can play down in the box or cover tight ends.
• Matthew Golden, WR, Texas – Versatile, explosive, and still developing — a great third option behind Adams and Nacua.
Round 3, Pick 90
• Austin Barber, OT, Florida – Big frame and long arms; upside tackle who could develop into a starter.
• Ricardo Hallman, CB, Wisconsin – Smart, aggressive, and sticky in coverage.
• Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State – Big-bodied tight end with blocking ability and red-zone value.
Quick Take
The Rams aren’t rebuilding — they’re reloading. With a healthy Stafford, a WR duo of Adams and Nacua, and some nasty emerging talent on defense, they’re firmly in the playoff mix again. If they hit on their first-rounder and find a mid-round starter in the trenches, they’ll be a real problem down the stretch in 2025.
Cap Room & Post-Draft Watchlist (as of 4/20/2025)
• Cap Space: Around $17.6 million — enough to make a move or two
• Possible Post-Draft Free Agent Targets:
o Connor Williams, C – Could stabilize the interior line
o Kyle Van Noy, LB – Would add depth and playoff experience
o Casey Hayward, CB – Veteran who can still start in a pinch
Players to Watch in 2025
• Puka Nacua, WR – Can he follow up with another 1,200+ yard season as defenses start keying on him?
• Jared Verse, EDGE – After a dominant rookie year, he could be one of the top sack artists in the league.
• Braden Fiske, DT – If he makes the jump, this D-line could become elite.
