The Daily Gains and Losses of Love
A Trader Life In reality
📖 The Daily Gains and Losses of Love
Emran and Tania had been married for three years. They first met at a friend's wedding. At that time, Emran had just started trading. He was glued to his mobile and laptop, analyzing charts and watching YouTube videos, trying to learn more about the market. His family didn't really understand what he was doing.
Sometimes, relatives would ask him —
“What exactly is this trading? Is it stocks, forex, or Bitcoin? I don’t quite get it. Why don’t you just get a job?”
Emran would smile and reply —
“Why work a job when I can build my own business?”
But he knew how tough this "business" was. The daily ups and downs, managing the emotional rollercoaster, staying up all night watching markets, and the constant feeling of both thrill and anxiety — that was his everyday life.
Tania had no clue about all of this. She thought Emran was just playing a game.
In the first few months of their marriage, Tania didn’t understand the depth of his trading. Emran would sit in front of his laptop for hours, sometimes until 3 or 4 AM, staring at charts.
One day, frustrated, Tania said —
“Why are you always staring at these charts? You don’t even talk to me at night. Don’t you have time for your family?”
Emran couldn't answer. Trading had become his life.
That night, Tania went to bed angrily, and Emran sat in front of his laptop, the market flashing on the screen. Candlesticks rising and falling. Profits and losses moving in front of his eyes.
He thought to himself —
“How long can I keep doing this? Can I really balance my trading and my family life?”
But trading was an addiction, and it was hard to let go. When he made a profit, he felt on top of the world. But when he took a loss, it felt like everything was falling apart.
Days passed by.
📌 The Big Loss
Two months later, Emran took a big trade on USD/JPY.
His analysis told him it was a surefire trade. Profit was guaranteed.
He entered with a 0.50 lot using $20 in his account.
The market moved against him, and his position was down by -$30. He held onto the trade, thinking it would turn around.
It didn’t. The loss grew to -$80.
By morning, his heart sank. He had lost almost all his remaining capital.
Tania woke up and saw Emran sitting in front of his laptop, eyes red from exhaustion and stress.
She walked over, concerned, and asked —
“What’s going on?”
Emran couldn’t hide it anymore. He told her everything.
Tania gently said —
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier? Look, money comes and goes. You’re my life. It doesn’t matter if we lose everything. I’m here for you.”
That was the moment Emran realized how lucky he was to have Tania by his side. She was there, not just during the good times, but also when things were tough.
📌 The Dream
The next day, Emran took Tania out for a walk. He said —
“I have a dream. One day, I’ll be a great trader. A day will come when you’ll say — ‘My husband is the best trader!’”
Tania smiled.
“Your dream is my dream. I’m here with you.”
From that day on, Tania never complained. In fact, sometimes she would make him tea and say —
“Let me see the charts! I’m starting to understand this stuff!”
When Emran made a profit, they would go out to a restaurant. When there was a loss, they’d watch a movie together.
Trading wasn’t just about money anymore. It was about managing emotions, understanding each other’s struggles, and having a support system.
📌 The Big Profit Day
One day, Emran took a trade based on a major news event.
The news came out, and the market shot up.
Emran saw a profit of $200!
He immediately closed the laptop and said to Tania —
“I have a surprise for you.”
Tania was curious —
“What surprise?”
Emran showed her an airline ticket.
“Let’s go to Cox’s Bazar for two days, just the two of us.”
Tania was shocked, then smiled and hugged him.
That evening was perfect. They sat by the beach, watching the sunset, and Emran said —
“You know, profit and loss come and go, but you… you are my biggest profit.”
Tania smiled through her tears.
📌 The Years Go By
Three years later, Emran is still trading. Sometimes it’s a profit of $100, sometimes a loss of $50.
Tania is still by his side. Every night, when Emran is up late, Tania gets up and makes tea for him.
She says —
“Don’t worry, tomorrow will be better. I’m here.”
Emran knows now that there is no greater profit than having someone like Tania in his life.
Trading is not just about money. It’s about having a partner who believes in you, who supports you through thick and thin.
📌 The Last Word
The daily gains and losses will always be there in trading. Sometimes the account balance will hit zero, and sometimes it will rise.
But the one thing that cannot be lost is love.
When you have someone like Tania by your side, no loss can take away the happiness that love brings.
Love doesn’t get measured in dollars or cents. It gets measured in moments, in support, in shared dreams.
"Love Too Much vs. Love Less: A Fine Balance"
In life, we often hear people say, “Love too much and you’ll lose yourself.” But, is it really true? When you love too much, you give everything, often at the cost of your own happiness. Your world revolves around the person, and your emotional energy can drain, leaving little for yourself. The more you invest, the more vulnerable you become, risking heartbreak or disappointment. Too much love can lead to over-dependence, creating an unhealthy relationship where the balance tips in favor of sacrifice without mutual growth.
On the other hand, loving less, or maintaining distance, might appear as a safer path. You guard your emotions and your energy, often keeping a part of yourself away from others. But, does that lead to success and fulfillment? Not necessarily. Without deep connections and vulnerability, relationships remain shallow. You may protect yourself from hurt, but at the cost of never truly experiencing the depth of love.
True success in life comes from finding a balance. Love with commitment and respect, but also ensure that you don’t lose yourself in the process. A balanced love, where both partners grow together, is the foundation of long-lasting happiness and success.
