GOLD AND SILVER UPS AND DOWNS – WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
Gold and Silver Prices This week, gold and silver continue to make sweeping historical moves. On one hand, the gold price broke through first $1850, then $1900 within two days. On the other hand, the silver price exceeded $20 on July 20th, then saw $21, $22, and $23 in the following days. Although the silver price doesn’t seem much more significant as compared to the gold price, silver actually increased faster. Therefore, silver is currently outperforming gold. DO YOU REALLY UNDERSTAND PROPER INVESTING?
Without gainsaying, we’ve heard that over 80% of people who venture into trading and investing eventually lose their money. Besides, do most average investors achieve their long-term goals financially? For a moment, compare the returns of an average firm on Wall Street to that of an average forex, futures, or stock trader, and we would perhaps agree that the equation is unbalanced. But then, what do average investors or traders do that are different from what’s done on Wall Street?

MUNGER’S MOATS: BANK OF AMERICA, PAYPAL AND SQUARE
Charlie Munger is famous for stressing the role of moats in successful investing. He argues that only strong moats allow a business to earn returns in excess of the cost of capital for substantial periods of time. The big problem is maintaining a moat. Potential competitors, eyeing those excess returns, will want to enter. What is worse, they will target those aspects of an incumbent’s business that are the most profitable and offer the best opportunities for growth. Technology serves to exacerbate the difficulty of maintaining a moat. It often allows an entrant to use software and electronic communication to reduce the cost of grabbing an incumbent’s most profitable busines.

HOW THE ECONOMIC RECOVERY SHAPE IMPACTS GOLD PRICE
The gold price remains above $1,800 an ounce, but where it will go next depends on what type of economic recovery we see. Many are expecting a V-shaped recovery. However, the resurgence in coronavirus cases in the U.S. suggests we could see a U-shaped or W-shaped economic recovery, which would impact gold prices.

WHAT ARE TAIL RISK FUNDS? AN INTRODUCTION TO A NICHE
Tail risk funds represent a small niche of the hedge fund industry, and there are a few different types. They essentially serve as insurance for your portfolio. Appreciation in Value
A short-term buzz of excitement is often valued in modern life over an extensive period of long-term gain. Take a meal, or a round of drinks, for example. They are often finished within a matter of hours and forgotten by the time the next occasion rolls around — unless they have been captured by the camera of the annually replaced iPhone.
