The Basketball Notebook
“So how did you get here T?” my teammate on the Boston Celtics asked after our first practice together. “ You wouldn’t believe me if I told you Shay, but if you have a minute I’ll tell ya.”I said willingly. “Yea now I have to hear this” he said as he took off his shoes and leaned back against the lockers. I took a deep breath then began my story.

Running Track
It takes a few minutes of lengthening your yoked limbs and joints to rev your engine enough for a good run around the winter track. You get no benefit from the daily weather in New England, and you lose nearly all motive. Lubricating my muscles, breathing in the dense air, I stretch more than I can stay alert for. My stamina feels lower than ever, and I push myself as little as possible at the start of the jog. Once I feel a bit of agility, I dance in and out of the lanes drawn with chalky paint.

Stop the Cheating In Youth Sports!
When Major League Baseball found the Houston Astros guilty of using modern technology and banging trash cans to steal signs during the 2017 season, it created a firestorm throughout all of sports. One school of thought claimed the team was just taking advantage of resources available to get an edge. Many others believed the scandal was a black eye on the game, and the team should have its World Series championship stripped from them.
