Is It an Aggressive Dog, or Just a Bad Owner?
Sadly, many provinces across Canada have areas that ban Pit Bulls – Ontario has them completely blacklisted, excluding ones that were already there. These bans greatly disappoint me as a Canadian from Ontario who adores every dog that will ever exist. Now, Quebec seeks to have them blacklisted as well.

Nice to Sniff You
Hi. I’m Olive. It's nice to meet you! My human companion Amanda told me that I should tell you about my life. I would love to do that. I’m almost five years old and I was born on Valentine's Day! Maybe that’s why I feel so full of love. Hahaha! Anyway, I come from what Amanda calls a breeder. I was a middle pup in a litter of twelve. Before I can even remember, I was given to Amanda. I’m a very important dog, you see. A very good, important dog with a real important job. Amanda needed me to watch over her and help her if she started feeling different. I was very good at my job. Amanda and I would go everywhere together. I am such a special dog. My favorite thing was going shopping at the mall. I loved all the people and smells. I could tell Amanda liked it to. It was always a very long walk.

When a Loved One Passes Away
It is stated in nursing homes that when it rains, the residents pass in three's. I know this all too well as I worked in Nursing Homes as a CNA. My heart always went out the the families of those who felt it was their time to go. Over time, while working with said residents, I had the pleasure of not only assisting them on a daily basis but also formed a friendship with them. When it rained and I watched as my new friends take their last breath; I felt myself overcome with sadness. Although I knew my job was never done as I had other residents to care for, but it was the loss of not being able to walk into a room and bid someone good morning or walk with them down the hall to the dining room having a short conversation as to how their night might have been.

Eyeliner Failure
I don't know how to make up. I'm not entirely sure of the reasons why; that's a lie it's because I'm lazy. Now my basic makeup skills fit perfectly with my basic bitch lifestyle, yet there are days where I'm feeling adventurous and want to see more than mascara on those eyes! And yes I've watched the tutorials, I mean I've skimmed through the tutorials, and by that I mean I've re-watched the part where they apply it about 20 times, then I have a go and fail and get upset and start binge watching Gilmore Girls—again. I mean we've all been there!

Telling Tales: Why Survivor Stories Matter
Earlier this year, I attended a recovery program for survivors of domestic violence. The abuse had taken place more than 10 years previously, and it had haunted me ever since. The first time around, I tried to seek help, but I was let down by all the agencies that I sought help from: my doctor, social workers, the police. My abuser’s stalking behaviour and his tactic of threatening and harming anyone close to me left me isolated and without support. He was a charmer and the master of telling a good tale himself; with no evidence to back up his often extraordinary claims, those in authority took his word over mine.

How To Train Your Dog
Here are some of my thoughts and experiences of training dogs over the years. Obedience: The first thing you have to do is get the dog to pay attention to you. If its attention is all over the place, it will be next to impossible to train it.

Top 10 Films for Every Feminist
Face it, women on the big screen aren’t always accurately represented, or more to the point, they’re simply the "eye candy." That’s offensive, to say the least. Women are as strong and fight just as hard as men for simple things, like the right to vote, wage gaps, and a whole bunch of other things that men will never understand what it’s like to be without. Even when a movie producer aims to have that strong female lead, it sometimes tanks anyway because that’s just not how women work in real life. There are some amazing movies, though, that every feminist should see in their lifetime. The following ten films shed real light on issues and show women in the best way possible.
