My Nighttime Skincare Routine
As I binge watch YouTube videos of successful women who have flawless skin and impeccable morning routines all I can do is sit in envy. While I might not be a morning person (queue the two cups of coffee) I do try to stick to a nighttime skincare routine. Kudos to you out there who can wake early and get yoga, emails and skincare accomplished before your morning cup of Joe. Honest Thoughts on The "Me Too" Movement (and Why It Backfired)
When I first saw the now famous “Me Too” movement pop up on my twitter feed, it made me surprisingly happy. As a survivor of sexual violence, and one who had already come forward on social media and spoken out against their abuse, I was excited for others to feel the feeling of freedom that I felt. In November of 2016, I was sexually assaulted. By now I have come to terms with this, but I kept my assault a secret for nearly four months. I told people slowly, one-by-one, starting with the few people that I trusted, until one day I stepped forward publicly; posting a collection of poetry detailing my assault and the mental health crisis that followed. I posted this on the six month anniversary of my assault, and the amount of positivity I received brought me a newfound feeling of hope and happiness that had been absent from my life for quite a long time. Me Too was, as I hoped, the opportunity for more survivors to speak about their experiences and ultimately end the stigma while furthering their own healing.

My First Brazilian Wax
So several years ago I had finally gotten the nerve up to try and get a Brazilian wax. I had been hearing about getting waxed for a while now from several girlfriends of mine. So after some research and saved a little money off to the side, I was ready. I asked for the name and phone number of the place that one of my girlfriends went. I thought that since she went all the time, and was dating one of my roommates, that she would be a good person to ask. She gave me the phone number and I called to set my appointment.

What Makes Someone Successful
Average, everyday people who are attempting to better themselves or raise their income will often seek advice from high-earning people with prestigious careers. It makes sense to ask someone with success, “How do I become successful?” because they will offer detailed advice from their experience that will certainly be useful... but when you DO reach success, whose opinion of that success (or the journey towards it) matters most? Our children!
