First Year Experience
My first year at University has just finished. I study Drama and Theatre at the University of Lincoln and I have loved every second of it. It has not been a breeze and there have been moments when I have thought about packing my bags and heading home but now that I've stuck it out, I honestly can say that I am so happy.

Breaking Barriers
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to go back to school and become a teacher. After a few years of feeling stagnant at my then safety job, it hit me one day that what really lit me up was watching kids learn and develop. I felt I was gifted at raising them up, and I couldn’t think of a better feeling than being surrounded with opportunities to help young people discover the world and themselves. Starting a new career path at 30 wasn’t that scary. Mature students, as they call us, are quite abundant these days.

The Hardships of a Full-Time College Student with No Job
I've been a student at College of Southern Nevada since Spring of 2016. I am a Psychology Major and I am determined to earn my Associates Degree in Psychology. I later hope after graduating at College of Southern Nevada that I transfer to The University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earn my Bachelors of Psychology and my Masters of Psychology. Though that is definitely a challenge that I have to face. I use Financial Aide Pell Grants and my scholarship from The Veterans Affairs Chapter Thirty-Five benefits. I only have a certain amount of time to go to school and once I turn twenty-six years old, I have to be done with college and have a career in Psychology.

5 Steps to Finally Finishing Your Novel's First Draft
I have told myself since I was young that once day I would become an author of a book. I dreamed about the stories I would tell and the endless possibilities for writing. Throughout the years I have started novels on those rainy days when there is nothing to do. However, I would rarely come back to them. Life would always get in the way and soon I would lose interest. Despite this, my dream of being an author has been something that has never changed. I always come back to it as the only thing I could ever truly see myself doing. It is true, writing isn't always the easiest industry to break into. I eventually told myself that unless I actually complete writing pieces, I am never going to actually be a writer. Some time ago, I got inspiration for a novel and I knew that if I was going to become a writer, this would be the story I wanted to tell first. Recently after much self discipline, I was able to finally complete my first draft. Through the journey of writing a novel, I definitely learned some lessons along the way. Below are five things I learned when writing the first draft of my novel. If you are starting out this journey yourself, I hope what I learned will be helpful to you.
