The Emotion of Sports
"But in any given day, in the most mundane newspaper feature, in the most meaningless mid season game, there can be a moment of transcendence, a flash of genuine magic, which hints at all the possibilities. That's what keeps you engaged, keeps you in your seat."—J.R. Moehringer

Going Punk: A Writer's Guide to the Punk Side of Sci-Fi
When you hear the word "punk," what do you think of? Hoodlums on skateboards? Or maybe a kid wearing black eyeliner and their bangs all swept over one eye? Punk means different things to different people, but the word—and everything that goes with it—has forged a new meaning in the genre of science fiction.

Exploring Yourself
People often wonder about their sexual desires. They often wonder at what age should one prowl into their desires. I believe at the age of 16, everyone should understand the basic concept of sex. Now, should they partake in sex? My answer is that’s a conversation for you and your parents to decide. And if you are at a reasonable age then, the world is your oyster. So to everyone out there, I say, just think about it. At what age did you begin discovering yourself? And just know, that no matter what age it may be, know that you are not alone. There is nothing that you should be ashamed of.

Russia 2018
We are days away from the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Days away from the tournament that will pit the 32 best teams in the world on one stage competing for soccer hegemony. The stars have aligned and will be on the pitch for competition in the forms of Neymar, Messi, and Ronaldo. The trio of superstars look to provide a spectacle for all to see carrying their respective national team’s flag in hopes of capturing the most coveted prize as the world’s best. In lieu of that pursuit, the politics of sport have taken hold of this prestigious tournament. The setting and the timing of the event look to make this years’ competition one of the most politicized sporting events in decades. Russia as the host city in conjunction with the United States involvement in the bidding for the 2026 World Cup have made this years’ tournament particularly interesting.

Irish Pubs
Whether you’re in the heart of Dublin or the beautiful village of Kilsheelan, the pub is the center of life in Ireland. Not just for the Guinness or Jameson, or (the author’s personal favorite) Magners—you go for the stories, the laughs, the football or hurling game, or simply the beautiful Irish smiles.

Environmentally Friendly Alternatives for Everyday Items
Pela Phone Cases Most people have a phone case on their phone. Personally, I have gone through several during the six years I have been using a phone case. Most phone cases are not recycled and I am not sure if they could be either. Because they are an item that you will use for five years tops but can stay in the environment for up to 1,000 years; I would suggest getting a compostable phone case. Pela cases offer a compostable phone case option for Android and iPhone users. Although they do not have too many options, raising the demand for compostable phone cases will bring more options. If more people support these types of companies, more like them will pop up. Hopefully, a day will come where there will be as many or more environmentally conscious than there are unconscious.

Ultimate Guide to Investing in Defense and Military Stocks
If you were to take a close look at news releases today, you would swear that we are on the verge of another major war. Planes are being shot down, our president is bickering with global leaders, and tension can be felt in the air.

Home Treatment for Sick Dogs
My pooches are just as much a part of the family as my other half and I, so it’s heart breaking to know they are in pain (or think they are in pain). So many times I wish my dogs could tell me what’s wrong so I can avoid £100 for a quick visit to the vets to be told all is OK.

Never Meow on the First Date
A few months back, I was using online dating apps like Tinder and Bumble. Seemed simple enough. It felt like a game, to be honest. A strange game of filtering through shirtless gym selfies, “nice guys,” and the “My-friends-made-me-this-profile” guys. And after a few matches and conversations, perhaps there would be a phone number exchange, or maybe even a date. Now, in my case, I found the dates to go in one of three ways:

10 Best Natural Sleep Remedies to Cure Insomnia
Insomnia is one of the worst sleeping disorders to deal with on a daily basis because it prevents you from relaxing and getting a full night's rest. My college friend, Jen, dealt with the worse case of insomnia and she's also a nursing major. As a nursing major, we need sleep! Since we study literally all day, we expect to gain restful sleep at night. Jen hardly slept at all because of her insomnia. When she couldn't sleep, she'd study more and this completely drained her.

Best Military Science Fiction Books of All Time
Military life has inspired a lot of media in its time. All of the best war movies, the best anti-war movies, and the best Navy SEAL movies were made possible because writers and directors got inspired by the intricacies, drama, and content that came with modern military life.

10 Science-Backed Ways Natural Oil Reduces The Appearance Of Scars
There are a million ways to make having scars sound like it’s great. We can say that they tell stories. We can say that they “add character,” or that they “help show who we really are.” At the end of the day, though, it’s not fun. Scars, in some cases, they can make someone feel incredibly self-conscious about their skin.

5 Stages of a College Senior
Every year, over a million students graduate from colleges all over the globe. They stand proud in their cap and gowns, ready to take their diploma with a smile. To the audience, they’re entirely poised and prepared to take on the world. In reality, they’ve had ten mental breakdowns, slammed out a 30-page thesis paper, and shotgunned two cases of beer (or bottles of wine)… all within the last seven days. And that’s not even the half of what we students endure throughout our whole senior year.
