I Let My Fiancé Plan My Bachelorette Party and It Wasn’t a Total Disaster. Created with: LELO.
I do trust my fiancé—I suppose that’s obvious, since I’m marrying him. However, I was very hesitant when he volunteered to plan my bachelorette party. It’s the type of pre-wedding celebration that is almost always handled by a bridesmaid. It is a girl’s night, after all.

3 Small Things that Make a Big Difference
If someone asked me my beauty secrets, which is something people often want to know–I honestly wouldn’t know what to say. Not because I am not looking after my physical body, but because beauty to me goes so much deeper than that, and I doubt it can be enhanced via so called “secrets;” not in any meaningful way anyway. While I am fully aware that this opinion of mine is unpopular–I wholeheartedly believe that true beauty comes from within, and is the result of inner harmony and balance. Yes, of course there are physical/aesthetic attributes to it that indeed can be improved, or even changed dramatically, but to me if something is artificial–it is not beautiful. Everything is energy, and we cannot fake it, not with makeup, not with filters, not with the latest Kardashian trick of the trade.

How to Bake Away the Pain of Being a Bad Person: Brownies
We all have those thoughts that make us feel a little bit guilty. Starting to realise you don't like your children as people? Confused as to why you daydream about tax evasion and why it turns you on? Contemplating arson as a hobby? I mean, who doesn't!

A Heart in Ruin
“Walking at random through the streets, we came by chance upon the Cathedral of Notre Dame. I shall long remember my first impression of the scene within. The lofty gothic ceiling arched far above my head,, and through the stained windows the light came, but dimly–it was all still, solemn and religious.”

How Has Comic Book Culture Evolved Over the Years?
The precursor to Marvel Comics was born all the way back in 1939 under the magazine publisher Martin Goodman, who created Timely Comics. It’s hard to believe, but that was already eighty years ago. Comic books have been a huge part of nerd culture for decades, but things have evolved quite a lot over the years.

Ivakkak 2019: Northern Sled-Dog Race Across Nunavik
The event happened on March 10, 2019. It was on a very cold Sunday morning that the racers of the Ivakkak race were scheduled to arrive at the finish line in the village of Inukjuak where I am now living for most of the year. Luckily for me, I have the weekends off, so I was able to go see the racers make their final stop after two long and intense weeks of traveling through the harsh winter sceneries like tundra and blizzards.

How Did Photography Change My Life?
My Inspiration... "Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important. Capture good times. And if things don't work out, just take another shot." Those are the words my grandfather told me as he took a portrait of me. I was only ten years old at that time, still in middle school. It was my birthday. I always admired my grandfather for everything he did. He loved taking photos of other people, and seeing them smile.

A Love More Inclusive
I would like to preface this, with the understanding that I am in no way trying to put down romantic love. Romantic love is magical, and wonderful, and when reciprocated in a healthy way, can be very fulfilling. In this piece, all I am meaning to convey is that there are also other types of magical, wonderful, healthy ways to love, that have nothing to do with romance. If you are interested in reading my takes on romantic love feel free to do so Here.

The Bird and the Pearl
I had not eaten or drank anything all day. Yesterday was one month since my husband’s passing; food held no allure for me. A visitor stopped by in the afternoon, and it was probably the last person in the world that I wanted to see, yet in the queerest way I was thankful. I suddenly had the urge to lock-up the place I had been locked up in for three days, and go find something good out there. There must be a positive in this town, I thought.

The Future of Sazon and Adobo Is Loisa
Through all my memories of existing in a Puerto Rican household, there was one constant that was never questioned. It was always there in our pantries, in our foods, in every supermarket we’d set foot in. It was the secret to delicious meals that I desperately try to replicate today. The bright orange packaging of sazon and the yellow and blue bottle of adobo are as prevalent and loved in my life as for others, but how did this happen, what are we actually eating, and why?

Reverse Culture Shock
It's been three years since I left Japan to return to my home country of Canada. I lived in Japan for eleven years, more than a quarter of my life. That's a long time to live outside your home country. I got married in Japan, had a child in Japan, and had a job I loved in Japan. But why did I move back to Canada? There are several reasons, which I'll briefly touch, but it was a very difficult decision. It's a decision I still live with, and I've changed a lot as a person.

Marvel Characters We Could See After 'Endgame'
The insanely successful first phase to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's evolution is about to reach it's climax with the release of Avengers Endgame later this month. While Marvel purists and casual viewers alike are waiting with baited breath to see who's gonna take the final eternal dirt nap among our heroes, the hamster wheel of ideas, rumors, and wishful thinking has started in earnest in terms of who (or what) we'll see from the MCU once Thanos gets his this time around. There are certain major characters that we KNOW aren't going to be back, at least in the capacity that we're used to seeing them as fans (Chris Evans as Captain America and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark immediately come to mind). What we DO know is that the door is truly open in terms of who we'll actually see in the post "A-Team" Marvel Cinematic landscape. Here are three characters and origin stories THIS true believer would love to see the brain trust running the MCU's second half take a chance on:
