The Best Day is Now
When I think about better days I don’t think about going back to my past. A lot of people are excited about the idea of getting back to work, getting back to the mall, restaurants, festivals...getting back to the way things have always been.

To the Mothers of America:
Remember when you discovered you were going to be a parent? The moment you learned that inside you, was another life? Remember the incredible fear and excitement you felt all at the same time? All you worried about was whether or not you would be a good mother. Do you remember when?

Cartoon Characters With Surprisingly Deep Backstories
Once solely the domain of children's entertainment, nowadays, a lot more effort goes into making cartoons enjoyable for all ages. A big part of this is a lot more thought going into certain characters, their feelings and motivations.

I finally reached my Vocal Media payout!
I don't consider myself a great writer but I am a patient person. Over the last two years I have tried to be as consistent as I could. I've experienced some difficulties but pushed through and it was all worth it. The money isn't a huge deal but it is nice to have a small reward for my efforts. I don't think Vocal Media is for everyone but I really appreciate the great staff that they have and how they've encouraged me to continue to write.

Get In Loser, We're Going to Outer Space
I don't know about anyone else, but boy am I tired of living on Earth right now. Maybe my agitation is more towards the people running Earth than the planet itself. Still, I'd like one day where I don't have to read headlines of fires burning down the amazon, rising sea levels, ignorant politicians, racism, homophobia, poverty, school shootings, animals going extinct, and now, a global pandemic. Sure - I will do my part as an Earthling to help change these horrible things, but that doesn't mean I don't need a break from it all. It's overwhelming, thank you very much.

The Spiders from Mars or How I'm Spending Time After Quarantine
When Governor Murphy gives the okay, I’m out of here. Straight down the turnpike and straight towards the sky to fly off in a thirty foot rocket full of cheese wiz and French Champlain. Ritz crackers lull me to sleep as I ascend & drift off through our compromised atmosphere. I float weightless around my new home as I journey on past the Moon past Venus to our first destination Mercury.

Normal People: A Timeless and Tender Portrayal of Young Love - But Does it Live Up to the Hype?
Based on the best-selling novel by Irish author Sally Rooney, BBC Three’s adaptation of Normal People is a near word for word parallel as it tells the raw and realistic story of Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal). An infatuation started as teens through secret kisses (and that which follows) that would continue to be revived and deepen as their lives persist on crossing paths throughout the years.

To the background heroes in our lives.
“What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.” –Confucius I am privileged. I know that, and I say that because I have the fortune of having my health and that of my loved ones; because my loved ones and I all have a secure job, a place to live, food to eat and everything else considered an essential in almost any country. So, I am bitter-sweetly aware of our privileged position in these tough and uncertain times for so many.

Top 5 Moments from Star Wars
When we think of movie franchises, it is hard to ignore Star Wars. From the time the first film graced our screens in 1977, the space opera saga has grown into the second highest grossing franchise of all time, beating out the likes of Harry Potter and James Bond, which house some of the most iconic films the world of cinema has seen in recent years. This alone should speak volumes of how successful this franchise has grown - and now, even after 9 full feature films, 2 anthology films, eight animated TV series', and a brand new live action series, it doesn't show any signs of slowing down. Admittedly, Star Wars has had its fair share of problems in the recent past and while the future looks rather uncertain for how it will be proceeding, nobody can deny its rightful place as one of the most influential film franchises to ever exist.

The Kendrick Lamar Bracket
This was so hard. Something you can say about both this bracket and the instrumental for “The Blacker The Berry.” One of the things I hated most about this bracket, as is the issue with any bracket, is that some of the pairings, as inevitable as they might be, made for tougher decisions than I wanted. In selecting who would move on in my bracket, I tried to judge these songs as objectively as possible based on how they work within the album, how effective they communicate their message, how ear-grabbing the music is, and I only relied on subjectivity when deciding a dead heat. Here were some of the more difficult or, in some cases controversial, choices I made.

5 Things "The Office" Has Taught Me About Life
If you're anything like me, you don't need to be in quarantine to be on your 100th run-through of the great family classic The Office (US). I have to admit, though, it wasn’t until about three years ago that I watched this series for the very first time, so I was a bit late to the party. But you know something? I am eternally grateful that I didn’t see this show when I was growing up, because I know I would never have appreciated it the way I do now.

The world is your oyster
It's an hour before noon in Cancale, on the coast of Brittany; head down to the edge of the sea — the port is called La Houle — in the chilly sunshine and wait, perched on a stone wall. Soon, you see them come into view, the little oyster boats, chugging into shore with their morning's catch.
