The M.O. of the GOP
Live by the Hornswoggle, Die by the Hornswoggle

Did you know that immigration is the reason the United States has the lowest inflation rate in the western world? No Jive. This is according to the Congressional Budget Office. Not only that, immigrants are predicted to add 7 trillion dollars to the GDP during the time span of 2023 to 2034¹. That’s from Congress’s own Budget office. I’m not sure, but I kind of think that’s a lot of money. Now what?
Well, now that you asked, the CBO and president of the American Action Forum stated it like this.
“The way to solve an inflation crisis is to endure an immigration crisis.²”
Immigrants provide a buffer against inflation. Ya wanna know why the Orange Jesus is so worried about that immigration bill? It would essentially give us all a way to continually offset inflation by guaranteeing a constant increase in our labor pool. That’s the short version of a really long story that you would have to endure for maybe five or ten years just to fully understand the futility of trying to breed ourselves out of inflation as proposed by our ever-so-myopic Speaker of the House.
The Senate Republicans refused to support the bill which they had demanded as their blood money part of aid to Ukraine. They refused to even let it come to the floor. I suppose we could look at all that as so much political bullshit, and we would not be wrong. But we could also look at it as corporate necessity and still not be wrong. It’s possible for both things to be true at the same time. If we pause for a moment and consider the possibility that corporate lobbyists would not be overly friendly to a bill which would limit a virtually unlimited workforce. And that economists would not be overly supportive of risking runaway inflation simply to indulge MagaMike and the Theocrats an illicit fantasy of turning brown races white. Or was that a nightmare about brown people being as important as white races? Kind of a different take on Putting on the Ritz.
Poor MagaMike. He’s making a lot of mistakes even for a rookie. He doesn’t have a backbone of his own so he tries to borrow one from whomever he currently sees as the leader of the pack. Due to a deficit in functioning intuition he doesn’t see the imminent downturn of fortunes for his Orange Jesus. That’s the trouble with that whole good boy thing. Mikey’s trying to be a really good boy so Daddy Orange doesn’t give him a good whupping. The sad part of that story is the Speaker of the House is supposed to be the Congressional Daddy. Mikey ain’t got enough time in on that tanning machine Trucker used to hawk to stand that tall, much less to stand for himself. Poor old thing. He’s doing the best he can and that just ain’t going to cut it.
In the meantime, the budget crisis is due to reappear next month in its quarterly orbit around the Congress. Nothing has been done, again, still. No funding for Ukraine. No funding for Israel. No immigration bill. Not even Hunter produced any tangible results. Well, that’s not entirely true. It’s true that no bill was passed, but the Republican majority of Congress continually demonstrates a world class obsession with other people's sex lives and some of the most foolish proposals in the annals of history. Don’t think it rises to that level of stupidity? What would you call Peachy Green’s move to impeach Joe Biden because he became President and even further, he has “invaded the southern border.” (Google it). No one in history has ever been on record as being that dumb. That macabre maybe, but not that stupid.
Speaking of the macabre, a group of people from Anytown USA went down to Eagle Pass in Texas to converge on a park, which is not private land so it is a safe place to cross over into Texas and give themselves up to immigration authorities. The Governor of Texas actually ordered his men at that park to allow a woman and two children to drown and to not allow immigration officers to rescue them. Folks wouldn’t want to miss a repeat performance, now would they? It appears that Governor Abbot is an advocate of the Genghis Khan version of meaningful governance. But then it appears that something like 25 other Republican Governors are also adherents.
Then there are the yahoos who have formed up a caravan of RV’s to stem the brown tide. The few that arrived at that damned park did not find an invasion as they had envisioned in a lust for power over something. Now, I do not think those people are bad. I don’t even think they’re wrong in what they’re doing. I do think that politicos like MagaMike, Orange Jesus, Frozen Mitch, Peachy, Cancun Ted and most of all, Mattie Boy have used outright lies to hornswoggle (been waiting years for even an opportunity to use that word in a sentence) good, well-meaning, innocent to the point of naiveté, trusting people who have no reason to doubt an elected official. Can you believe it, when those good people arrived at that famous park there was nothing to do except fight with each other about who was the most absurd? Film at eleven and forever on YouTube.
Let me see if I can paint this picture so you can see it clearly. The entire border security falderal has been a Seinfeld episode. It’s about nothing, orchestrated by a loser to underscore why he is a perennial loser who is hoping for a second coming. There’s an old saying, so old that no one remembers when it began. “Live by the sword, die by the sword.” I guess that also can be applied to lies. “Live by lies, die by lies.” I don’t think it’s fair to apply that idea across the GOP spectrum but it does fit a small vocal minority. I suspect that group of folks are well-meaning and even sincere in what they espouse on cable news. But I have trouble believing that any of them dare think for themselves.
There are always some who think for themselves of course and they use the information they have available to make informed decisions. If MagaMike and the Theocrats think that a foray down to the border prepares them for something, then they might want to look into a second career in the creative department of a deeply imaginative movie set because the border is a time bomb unless there are controls. We are not talking about playing Cowboys & Indians or any other silly game. We’re talking about reality here, again, and it appears that the Theocrats just can not get there.
There’s nothing particularly wrong with anything put forth by that bunch, as if they’ve actually put something forth. Well, the Senator from Oklahoma, the one who is also a Southern Baptist preacher, and was the man who midwifed the immigration bill into being, was chosen because he is a sure lock on doing it as right as a Southern Baptist preacher can do it. You know it would be frugal and fair and land on the right side of the aisle. But along came the Orange Jesus and turned the immigration/Ukraine/Israel funding bills into a charcuterie board worthy of Doctor Oz himself. And why, you might ask? Because the Orange Jesus is a bigger POS than any model Ford Pinto? Come on guys, don’t give me any malarkey on this. No one can forget what a blundering bunch of clowns this current batch of Republican Congress people are. The only thing that was accomplished with refusing to even take this bill up is that Republicans have demonstrated ineptitude on a scale that boggles the collective international mind. Cripes, we’re even worse than the English.
