Question: Why does Don Poorelone throw ketchup on walls?

Answer: So he can’t see what’s written there.

The Stable Genius, Don Poorelone, has a math problem. Well, that’s one of several problems he has, but the math problem is the most significant of them all. The nature of the math problem is not enough Republicans are voting for him in the Primaries. Elections are won in the ranks of the undecided, it’s true. But when Republicans are wandering off the reservation before the main event even takes place, it does not bode well for the Republican nominee. If the Republican dyed in the wool faithful are jumping ship then you can bet the independents are not buying passage.

Ship-jumping is probably the least of his worries. He is also facing mounting legal challenges to his alternate reality fantasy of not losing the election but rather no longer being President because the election was stolen. Then there is the idea that in several states he tried to establish alternate slates of electors. These are not activities of an honest broker.

Don Poorelone was complaining about the election being stolen from him well before the actual election of 2020. He saw the writing on the wall then just as he sees it now. No matter how outrageous he is or behaves he will not gain enough attention to win back the Presidency. Too many people have seen him for who he is. Oh, it’s true that there are substantial numbers of people who are still infatuated with him. But it is not likely that number will rise. Even the media will tire of the Don as the summer wears on. Already his tirades are being shut off during on-air segments where he is speaking. Cable news outlets, fearing libel laws, just have no choice but to turn off his microphone for fear of his lies.

Another problem the Don is facing is one of the famed trickle-down effect. This effect is not about money, however. What is trickling down for the Don is his influence. It isn’t about him being a good influence or a bad influence, it's that the egotistical smirk that only the righteously ignorant can master is what’s trickling down. It casts a putrid pall about the entire contingency of MAGAdom as Poorelone wannabes vie to be the next smirking Hawley fist pumping into fame and everlasting notoriety. They are never aware that smirk is the reason they can’t help but fail.

The good news, in the words of every fairy godmother in history, “This too shall pass.” The pall which Don Poorelone has brought upon the land is beginning to lift, which was the inevitable conclusion to this tidal eddy of history. One place where there may be a sign of the changing of the times is with our old pal MagaMike. It seems that the weight of the responsibility that comes with the Speakership is pressing in on Mike in spite of his MAGA cravings. According to the New York Times¹, MagaMike has been speaking privately about his concern for Ukraine and how he has to get funding for the defense of their freedom. Maybe being Speaker is kind of like being a kitten. It takes a while for kittens to open their eyes too, you know.

Of course, MagaMike has been playing with fire. Margie is PO’ed that Mike used the Democrats to fund the government. Like as though he had the majority to get that job done with his Republican majority-of what? One? Two? Although, there is an upside to Margie’s claim to fame. No one in Congress is really interested in repeating the Kevin Debacle ever again. Especially not in an election year. Especially not in this election year. If Margie follows through, she will not garner support for her resolution. She might even become more despised than she already is. Maybe someone should explain that repeating in a gym should not be confused with repeatedly demonstrating your self-serving rhetoric as a calling card to your faux wisdom. One might not grasp the concept of wisdom in those circumstances.

Comer Pyle and Jr Jordan are also being spotlighted as entertainers as opposed to Congressmen. Slowly the cosplaying-egotists are being outed for what they are. Ken Buck has had enough. J.D. Vance is still credible in Ohio but for how long. If Jr. Jordan falls, then so will J.D. All the little MAGAs are being exposed for the frauds they are. No one actually believes the election was stolen from Don Poorelone any more than they believe that Joe Biden is not the President. Don Poorelone can claim that it was stolen all he wants but no one really believes him. Folks simply listen while remembering a favorite grandmother hanging on every word as they related their childhood exploits. There’s even a guy in Texas who is running for President under the name of Literally Anybody Else. I think we can consider this series of events as a sign of changes, as Bob once said, blowing in the wind.

It’s good that change is on the wind because we need to attend to the needs of the world around us. And if you don’t mind, Ms. Greene could you just sit this one out? No one cares what you think anyway. You have to think before that idea can apply to you. No disrespect but just chill, please. Russia has lost nearly 450,000 men to this war as of this writing. Another 1,310,000 wounded. It must be assumed that Ukraine has lost a similar number of people plus the civilians who have been killed in bombing and missile attacks. As of February of this year, nearly 30,000 Palestinians have been killed and another nearly 70,000 have been wounded. Ms. Greene, that’s approaching 4,000,000 people whose lives have been forever altered while you sit and bitch about being pissed off about the United States paying its bills.

Remember all that hoard of people down at the border? It’s true that we cannot open the border like it’s a 24-hour Walmart. It’s also true that we need immigrants to keep inflation at bay. The border bill that is in the House provides a lot of what is necessary to keep our immigration needs at a manageable level but does nothing to address the actual problems those people at the border are experiencing in their lives that bring them to the border in the first place. The very fact that those people are at the border is indicative of the idea that we cannot ever be isolated from the rest of the world. The world cannot allow that to take place. If we as a race of planetary inhabitants are to remain on the planet we must, perforce, find common ground with those who may differ from us in their beliefs in real. Those other beliefs are necessary to complete a complex society. It is clear that even though we now exist in a complex society, it is hardly a mature society, either nationally or internationally. We have yet to qualify as a class-able society. We are not yet a level one civilization. One of our Presidential hopefuls is not pleased with the idea that in order to survive we must harness the power of our star. And he ain’t the star we need to harness. In the words of old possum hunters everywhere, “That dog just won’t hunt.”
